High Point Lookout — Attraction in Montague Township

This was a very unique structure that I regret I was able to enter on my visit. It was closed. I would have absolutely loved to climb the inside of that structure and peer out over the world to see all the states I could. Maybe someday I will go back, who knows? When I visited, it was on a trip back to GA. We made a quick stop so I could see the mountain. I am glad I did. This seems to be a very big park with a lot to offer. I saw a small lake with a beach area for the summer, camping areas, and picnic tables. While I was there, a snow squall was moving in so we decided to get off the mountain quickly when the alert came through. The wind made the already freezing temperatures feel soooo much colder, and it just ripped through all the clothes I was wearing. As a GA girl, this was a weather I'm NOT familiar with. It's a Great place to go for a day trip. Theres alot to see. A beach, really, it's a lake in my opinion, trails, and other activities. The views are Amazing. We could see for miles around. New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We took pictures of the Hawks, deer, and other wild animals we saw in the woods all around. The parking lot is very large. There are closer spaces to High Point for those with Handicapped placards and Handicapped license plates. Outside the museum are informative places to learn, take photos, and they point out which states you are facing at the section and information about the surrounding lakes, buildings, etc. Pack a picnic basket and have...

Nice views- Nature at best but at top by the monument is crap!! They are charging cars now which is fine but how about replace the two benches that are crap!!
