A representative of Wedgewood Weddings sent me two emails asking for a review of their services for my wedding on 2/17/23. It took me almost a month to respond due to the fact that I--along with all my close family and friends in attendance--try our very best to just forget about it. But, since she insisted, I'll tell you my big problem with Wedgewood Weddings.
After spending roughly $16,000 on a dream, my DJ played the totally wrong song for my wedding party walking down the aisle (no he did not contact me in any way to tell me he couldn't find my song we discussed or anything). The girlies at Wedgewood did this really cool thing where they put all the outdoor games we wanted under a large tree in the dark behind our covered reception area. They didn't leave a candle, a glowstick, or even a flashlight for my guests to enjoy themselves without rolling an ankle. It was very unsafe for anyone that attempted to play, and ultimately a total waste for us. They assured me that there would be heating for my guests as we were seated outdoors for our reception. This was not true at all. One worker says they don't work, or they're missing gas, etc. All of my guests, including family from North Dakota were freezing. I later come to hear about the heaters being turned off at the request of a guest. Wedgewood neglected to run that past me before doing anything, however, staff did interrupt me to ask if it was ok to turn the heat back on after hours of us shivering. I recall saying "well you didn't ask for my permission to turn it off... YES, turn it back on immediately." The whole schedule of my wedding was out of whack and not consistent with what we had discussed over video meetings numerous times. The DJ wasn't sure what to do, and once it was about nightfall, the Wedgewood girlies were acting like they couldn't wait to leave. My beautiful filet mignon was cooked WELL DONE, and there was not a single soul from Wedgewood to check with me on how the meal was. My wedding party had to cut pieces of theirs to share with me! Another lovely experience my wedding party had was being scolded like children for drinking a particular alcohol that Wedgewood erroneously left out for hours on the bar counter in the lounge area set up for us to relax after the ceremony. My guests had no idea what was off limits as there were hors d'oeuvres, beer, liquor, and champagne sprinkled all over the counter area. The last nail in the coffin was the bartender being incredibly rude to my photographer that happens to be a good personal friend. Once my friend was done working diligently to capture as much beauty as she could from what was supposed to be my special day, she asked the bartender for a drink. The bartender looked my friend up and down and snarked "ya snooze, ya lose!" and continued packing up the bar.
The only good thing this particular venue had was the aesthetic I was looking for. Using Wedgewood is the biggest regret of my life. I mean that with a passion. The only people that had any attention to detail or eagerness to help in any way they could was the late night kitchen crew that Cristina was so eager to hand us off to so she could scram. I don't know if it was just the staff they had (because I know they have a lot of turn around) but Hacienda de las Flores by Wedgewood Weddings don't seem to care about anyyyything once they get that last payment from you. You guys literally ruined my dream wedding. Also, I encourage Wedgewood Weddings to reach out to me via email or phone, and I will happily go into great detail about everything in this review.
As for others that have used Hacienda de las Flores or any other Wedgewood location and had a beautiful dream wedding, consider...
Read moreBeautiful garden area- it was cold and raining for most of the event. We expected that being advertised as a year round venue, they would be able to keep the tent warm and dry. They had heaters set up around the periphery of the tables but they were turned off most of the time. We were told that the heaters burn propane and it requires too much propane, or it cost too much to keep them on.
We were freezing all evening and there was nowhere on site that we could go to warm up. Many of the guests left early because of the cold!
The entrance to the tent was very wet- there was a large gap between the entrance and the next rain cover. This caused the entrance to be wet and muddy. Many gowns, including the brides gown were ruined as they moved from the tent to the buffet, bar and dance floor ~
The DJ tried to make announcements but could not be heard. Speeches from the parents, best man and maid of honor couldn’t be heard either because the mic and speakers were not working properly ~
When we were told that the happy couple were to cut the cake and start the first dance there wasn’t enough time for everyone to gather there. The groom’s grandmother was in a wheelchair and missed these important traditions because there wasn’t enough time to wheel her to the area.
Everyone working at this event were courteous and accommodating which is why I am giving them 2 stars.
The reason for the low rating is that the venue needs work It could be wonderful if the tent and other rooms were warm and transitions between areas were dry Until these issues are taken care of, I would not recommend this if you’re planning your event between...
Read moreWe had our wedding here October 2022. The Wedgewood team was incredibly kind and helpful. Shout out to them for answering a deluge of emails and questions the days leading up to our wedding.
Our guests loved the food (my husband and I were too full of adrenaline to even taste anything but our coordinator made sure we were fed!). Their recommended DJ was great, and we had absolutely no problems with the volume limitation. Music was loud and plentiful, which was super important to us!
The venue itself is gorgeous, definitely visit when you have the chance. Lots of parking, even enough for shuttles to get in and out and stage during the event. There are some old reviews that say there is only one bathroom, but by this time they have at least four (one in the cocktail hour/pool house location, two or three in the Hacienda by the dance floor and grooms suite, and one in the bridal suite).
One drawback for anyone targeting a summer wedding -- there's no AC and the indoor settings are quite small so if you're having a large guest count this probably isn't the venue for you. We were originally planning June but once we learned there was no air conditioning we switched to October, and the temperature could not have been more perfect.
I added some shots of the venue from our wedding. The gold charger plates, cutlery, glassware, linens, and chairs all belonged to Wedgewood. The flowers were done by their partner vendor, A Love's in Bloom. The candles, tiles, and sweetheart table runner were...
