La Chamba Taqueria — Restaurant in Moraga

5 Stars – Highly Recommend for Catering!. I recently ordered catered food for pick-up for a birthday party from this taqueria and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The owner was incredibly helpful in guiding me through how much food to order for our event, and he was spot-on — we had just the right amount with only some chips left over - the guacamole was bomb and now I know next time to order double!

We went with chicken and steak tacos, rice and beans, salsa, and guacamole. Everything was delicious, but the steak tacos really stood out — the meat was fresh, tender, perfectly seasoned, and not fatty like you sometimes get at a taqueria. Multiple guests at the party complimented the food, and it was a definite hit!

Ordering and pickup were both super easy. Rocio, the cashier who helped us at pick-up, was extremely friendly and made sure our entire order was complete and ready to go.

If you’re planning a party or event, I highly recommend this place for catering (as long as you have someone to pick it up). I’m already looking forward to coming back to try...

This is the third time I’ve been here. In general the food is just bland. I don’t know how else to say it. It’s not bad it’s just bland. There was one exception when I came here on taco Tuesday, the tacos were absolutely phenomenal, but everything else I’ve had I just found uninspiring and not as good as many of my go to Mexican places on the other side of the tunnel. I don’t know how it’s possible to have salsa for the chips that tastes so much like nothing. Again not bad per se, but just completely flavorless and transparent.

I think the meats are generally good, I think the main problem is with the sauces. My recommendation to them is to do something with their sauces so that they have more zest and flavor.

I wish I could give ZERO stars!! One of the worst meals we've ever had anywhere. My husband had the chicken fajitas. The tortillas were cold and greasy and fell apart when he tried to eat them. He wasn't even served a plate to eat them on. We ordered Diet Coke. Had to ask for a glass with ice. Pretty bad for $4.00 a can!! The people serving you couldn't even give half a smile. They sure do know how to ask for tips though. Be SMART and don't spend $45.00 for a dinner like this. Sorry, but...
