Dollar Tree — Attraction in Mount Penn

Well, I am so disappointed. I have shopped this "Dollar Tree" since it opened here in Mt. Penn. I was excited when I found out they were adding items at a higher price point for the added convenience of variety in sizes and brands. This store is a rather small store in comparison to other $ stores in the area. Although it seems like they have always had a high turnover of employees over the years, I only get to go to $ store(s) once maybe twice a month because of health and transportation issues and I spend a good deal of money there.

Recently, Sunday, January 7, 2024 , I found myself with no canned cat food To feed my 18 year old Cat and 9 month old kitten thier dinner. It was about 6 PM. when I checked the "Dollar Tree" app on the Internet for this particular store. I was amazed to see the hours listed online said they were open until 10.pm on Sundays, figuring they were upscaling the hours to fit the new upscaling of the inventory. When I arrived at the store at approximately 7:35, I noticed that the sign on door said closed at 8:00 on Sunday. I had about 20 minutes to get the cat food, lunch items etc. I usually spend a fair amount of time but was put off by the young cashier whom told me to " read the sign, or call the store" when I just told the girl that online your store was advertised to be open until 10 ,that she might want to let her Manager know. So not only did she get on the loud speaker and announce the store would be closing in 15 minutes, she continued making announcements almost every couple minutes there after. In all honesty, I didn't pick up the cat food until after the "Store is now closed" while being followed by the manager telling me how rude "I" was. I was fed incorrect information by their companies advertisement. I took the time to bring it to the so called "manager"'s attention , and then put under pressure to make purchases like a bomb was going to go off. I will, in all fairness, give this store another try, being a loyal customer. Through the years, I have never been rushed and disrespected like this ,in this or any $ store or store in general. There I s NO excuse . I hope this was a one-time occurrence. I was checked out, in the car, on the way home...

Where do I start??? I entered the store and there was only 2 carts. Both were useless, I couldn’t push or guide them. I saw many customer carts containing store stock. Some, blocking the entrance to many of the aisles. There were 2 female and two male employees. The only one with any work ethic was the tall male. He was cleaning up the mess on the shelves and also stocking! What appalled me the most , were the two females who walked around eating ice cream and loudly laughing! They didn’t even try to hide the ice cream and walked around the store like they were on holiday!! If it wasn’t for the Dollar Store green shirts, I wouldn’t have believed they worked there. One female worked checkout, the whole time speaking Spanish and laughing loudly with her coworker. They both made very inappropriate comments, thinking no one else would understand. The unprofessional behavior and lack of any work ethic should never be tolerated! I know it’s hard to find help, but I’d rather see the store close til the Dollar Store hires employees who have basic manners and class. Everyone who shops the Dollar Store on Perkiomen Ave Mt. Penn, PA 19606 deserves well behaved employees and a pleasant shopping experience! I really hope whoever reads this post, shares with corporate the zoo like atmosphere...

I placed an order for 3 cases of the vintage bottles with the cork to be sent to the store in Mount Penn Pennsylvania near Reading. I never received the bottles at all. The first order I was told that all of the bottles were broken then I ask the manager to show me,and I was told that they threw out the broken glass. I ask a person that I know that works there for a long time and I was told that its true that someone keeps those bottles for specific patrons . I called the number to corporate and they sent another order to the store and it never made it the bottles disappeared Keep in mind I ordered these bottles back at the beginning of October. I waited the 10 business days had pasted and the bottoles are nowhere to be found This store has the reputation of wrong doing so they keep the bottles for themselves or a specific customer. Funny how all orders kept disappearing. I wound give zero stars if that button...
