This was a nice, peaceful river park that encompassed a dog park, picnic tables, a 1/4 mile walking trail, and river access. There are also trash cans placed all around the park that makes it easy to dispose of your trash after a picnic. While there is river front, the portion that we went to isn’t the MOST accessible for small children. The portion that we explored was below the dog park. If you walk down the stairs to the river and then turn left and walk towards the bridge, there was a section of rock where our toddler was able to walk around and dip her toes in the water. Be aware, parts of this area have sudden drop off into deeper water and there’s slick mud in some spots where kids or adults could slip if not careful. We did not walk the full 1/4 mile so there may be better shallow water access around the opposite side of the park. There were also no bathrooms on sight but there are gas stations and restaurants...

♿️ Some of this park is accessible to wheelchairs and those with mobility issues. It is paved in a loop and there is a little side nature trail that is not paved but easy enough to get around. A little bridge takes you to a little bench. There are 15 stone stairs with a handrail that I was able to get down to the water, but the last step is steep. Pulling myself up the stairs was much easier. The park is beautiful without going near the water and there is a little nook for picnics that is covered and a huge fenced in dog park. There is a water bottle refill spot/water fountain for people and pets here. I found quite a few Eagle projects for the Scouts and tried to get a few pics of those. It is shady and peaceful here. I'm a rock and tree lover and I found quite a few here. It's not a large park, you'll need to make a few laps for a mile. But, it is worth going just for the...

I am so glad Mountain Brooke decided to create this area! The cultural mix is amazing. Poor to high income families all use this area, while being kept safe by the Mountain Brooke PD & FD. Also the trash is cleaned up every couple of days. There are areas dedicated to having a picnic or just having a stroll by the river. Dog stations are provided and there is also access to the Piggly Wiggly for food and drink. They have provided stairs to the river, which is very rare for a park by the water. Amazing place! I spend every...

A friend and I were staying in Birmingham after the threat of hurricane Ian. We were looking for things to do and found this park on Google. It is small, 5 acres, but it's right on the Cahaba River, which is so clear, you can see bottom. They have a dog park and some of the trees are identified with plaques, which is nice. We went back the next day and took lunch. No restrooms here, though. Very nice and peaceful.
