Liberty Park in Birmingham, Alabama, is a thoughtfully designed master-planned community that offers a blend of suburban tranquility and modern amenities. Nestled in Vestavia Hills, it has become a sought-after neighborhood for families, retirees, and professionals alike.

One of the standout features of Liberty Park is its commitment to outdoor living. The community boasts multiple sports complexes, including soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, and playgrounds. Residents can also enjoy the scenic walking trails and the Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex, which features turf football and soccer fields, as well as plans for an amphitheater...

Grand Statue of Liberty (Lady Liberty) of Birmingham

She represents sacrifice, freedom, the American dream-being a part of something larger than one's self. This is what millions of people feel every time they see the Statue of Liberty. But wait-this is not New York! We are in Birmingham Alabama, and this is what travelers see as they are making their way up and down a stretch of Interstate 459: an exact replica of one of our nation's most recognizable symbols. She stands over 106 feet tall and is part of the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scout of America Headquarters at...

You can see the statue from the interstate but it is definitely worth the short drive to it. There is ample parking there. I saw some others report that the gate to the statue itself was closed when they were there, but it was open when I went by. You could walk right up to the base of it. An extra bonus is the Eagle Scout Plaza. It has walls and walls of the names of those who have earned the rank of Eagle...

I really liked the Memory wall with all of the Eagle Scout names. The grounds were very maintained. Around the statue is closed off, so you can't get very close. The statue is 1/5 the size of our Lady Liberty, but very beautiful! Not far of the interstate, a must see if passing through. The shop wasn't opened when I went and I was the only person there. Very peaceful and surreal.

When we saw the Statue of Liberty Replica from I-459 it caught our interest. We were able to take a photo from the side of the interstate but could tell there was more. Fortunately we took the short drive to see the park. A great replica statue made of bronze and a wonderful scouting memorial dedicated to the Eagle Scouts. A great park to visit.
