I was trying to obtain an annual pass today after all the entry charges different places. I was directed to this center by the national parks association as the nearest place to buy one. We looked it up, it said it closed at 5pm so we rushed over so we could get our pass prior to going further north where we would need it but couldn't buy it. We drove over an hour and arrived at 4:45pm. I rushed up to the window to find a closed window/sign with the two women still in there. Myself and 2 other customers stood there patiently wondering why we couldn't be helped as it was 4:45. I finally knocked and asked to buy the $80 pass so I could be on my way and use it the next day on my travels. The lady literally sat and ignored us all. When I spoke through the closed window to her she stated "too bad, we are not open." Posted business hours for a national parks office should be honored and if youre this rude or lazy maybe you need to find a different type of job. If i shut down my place of business because "i didnt feel like working anymore" before closing time, i would be fired. I will be contacting the npa regarding this, we drove an hour to buy a pass and were treated rudely and unable to even buy our pass after all that. Unacceptable. Picture taken today at 4:46pm. Notice her sitting right there refusing 3 customers...
Read moreThe staff was really helpful and kind. The place has a very poor network coverage because of which it's difficult for tourists to know and figure out the direction in which they want to go. One would feel lost in the big jungle if he/she can't find the way out. The paper maps that the staff handed over to us for Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore became very easy to follow when the very friendly staff explained to use the routes that are open or closed for construction, the gravel roads and the smooth roads. With only 5-6 hours in hand, the staff made it easier for us to cover the main points of attraction here. Had a really cool experience visiting the Pictured Rocks National...

The walk is fairly easy and not that long (only 800 feet or so) but beware there are a few inclines and there's a curve in the path that looks like it's threatening to slide down into the gully below. It's still safe for now, but watch your step!
There used to be a path to actually walk up and behind the falls, but there have been some dangerous rockfalls recently, so that path is closed for safety.
It's still serene and stunning to experience, especially if you visit off-season to...
