Though the location has beautiful views of Superior, sunsets and Munising coast, the stay was a disappointment. My wife loves the water, and our anniversary trip is our one big investment of the year, but the deck and stairway down to the shore were impassable. Everything is completely overrun with poison ivy. I am highly susceptible! Broke out with rashes on one hand and one leg. Felt lucky it wasn't worse. It didn't help that the owner weedwhacked the poison ivy (at 8:30pm right by our "private bath" with no quick way to access the blinds - they are built in and inaccessible when the screens are in...) spreading it even further around the circumference of the rental. He never came back to blow it away or pick up debris. Other disappointments were the broken windows, broken locks that provided no security for our belongings (door that didn't line up with the frame) ants in the house, TV that didn't work, and finally, no breakfast at all. I realize breakfast service was stopped due to the Pandemic, but no fruit, bagels, or any offering whatsoever is just plain lazy. For this price I expected more. The space is comfortable, and it's far better than some other choices in the area, but way under the bar for a special occasion. Maybe it was better once, but they are clearly happy to ride on the wave of success of their...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to travel around Michigan for its waterfalls and as I was planning our visit, I came across this Bed and Breakfast as an option to stay at. Short story, I emailed the guy and he got us in for two days due to a cancelation - two weeks before our trip. I had stayed at a bed and breakfast before, my husband has not so he was iffy. Let me say, this place blew my experienced bed and breakfast out of the water and my husband loved it too! We were greated at the door - very friendly guy and Joanne (who owns the place)! As she stated, "home away from home"! And it was true! They gave us a detour and told us some intriguing information about the place - they have a beach, she cooks breakfast for her residents in the mornings, and she is very interested in our adventures and where we all came from. Her stories were very interesting as well. Oh man, I can go on! This one is definitely one for the books and we will definitely...
Read morePlease know there is no breakfast at this "bed & breakfast". There was a coffee maker we could use but there was no food, not even an ice cube to have a cold glass of water. The morning of checkout we were in our room dressing and packing (2 hours prior to checkout) and the host used the code to unlock our door and tried to come in. The rooms are lovely and clean, the view is amazing, still not sure it was...
