2 words to describe them based on our experience - greedy & illogical. we were a family of 8 with a toddler who is 2years and 7 months old. While booking the tickets, i misread that only ages 3 and above need tickets even though it was clearly mentioned that ages below 3 are not allowed. This was a miss from my end. We went there and we were told that we cannot take our kid who is not 3 since its not safe. I am glad they did that cos later we got to know that captain did all sorts of stunts in water. Now the reason i called them illogical is , they kept saying its not safe for our kid but if he was 5 months older, then it would be safe for our kid. It made no sense to me.Based on stunts they perform, the min age should be kept atleast 4 or 5. So parents take a note, dont use this ride if your kids are less than 5. Now the greed part, since they said we can't take our kid, i had to stay back. Hence i requested for a refund. They declined.Again, i get it if they didn't had people to fill my slot, it would be loss for them. But in this case, There was a guy who immediately took my spot and got into the boat and still they didn't give a refund. They ended up getting money from me and the other guy. I know nothing gonna change with this review. Still am doing my part to share our experience & warn parents who got kids under 5, Dont use this ride !
Response to your comment,
You just proved how shameless and dishonest you are with your false allegations ! pathetic ! We did book only 7 tickets, since my son was 2 years and 7 months old and i misunderstood your policy that only ages 3 and above needs tickets for the ride. And i clearly explained this to you. I accept it was a miss from my end. Now if you say its not safe for 2.7 year old to ride, then its not safe for 3 year old too. Plain and simple and we are so happy our son was not...
Read moreThis was an excellent experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits. The captain is personable, knowledgeable, and quite nice. There is good attention to safety, and your seatbelts will need to remain buckled the entire time. The tour itself is nicely paced with a balance of slow, reasonably close approaches to interesting features and faster maneuvers that some folx may liken to a roller coaster. If you want maximum airtime and maximum water splashes, you will want to sit closer to the front as much as possible.
You're feet will absolutely get wet regardless of where you sit. People in front may get drenched from the maneuvers. People more in the back may get splattered occasionally or near the end, but you aren't likely to need a change of clothes or anything afterwards.
If you are worried about taking pictures with your phone, the captain will do a soft heads up of "hold on" or similar after a photo or cruising phase so you can stownit away in something like a zippered pocket to avoid it falling or something. If you have a camera, it should be fine as long as it's secured to your person, and maybe you have a bag to keep it dry. I'd recommend sitting in the back for that scenario.
No food or water is allowed on deck with the exception of if you have a health condition, in which case you may bring what you need as long it's properly secured to your person. I'm constantly drinking water and I did manage to go through the whole thing without bringing my water bottle with me on a somewhat warm but cloudy day.
The check-in/office/gift shop location is also nice, and there are restrooms available for use. They are individual stalls so the bathrooms are not gendered. More specifically, there are 4 stalls.
The earlier you get in line the more choice of seating you will have. Most people will prioritize front to back so plan...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing!! Our whole family enjoyed it! The kids had a blast (ages 9, 7, 7 & 5 years). They were begging to take another ride and we weren't even docked yet from our first ride! Family owned and operated, which is awesome. Tim, the boat guide, is extremely skilled in maneuvering the tour boat, he gets you SO close to some of the rock formations; it's awesome! There were bathrooms available to use in the gift shop (super helpful as we were driving from quite a ways away. Tim's wife runs the gift shop. She does an awesome job and the gift shop is super cute! There is Dramamine available in the gift shop in case you get insanely motion sick like me and forget to bring some. There are also rain ponchos for purchase.
I would highly recommend a rain poncho, unless you don't mind getting SOAKED! It was a lot of fun and we LOVED it, but I am extremely glad I had a rain poncho on. I got wet even with it! I would also recommend wearing shoes that you don't mind getting wet. I soaked through my tennis shoes. Luckily for me I had a change of shoes in our car, so it wasn't a huge deal.
I cannot recommend Riptide Ride enough!!! You'll be so glad you took a tour with them. Definitely worth...
