If you love nature and being outside this is a great place for a day outing or even just a couple of hours. With a small pond for fishing and looking at the frogs to nature trails with grass and trees all around or paved trails leading through the park with beautiful rest areas, flowers, trees, and wildlife. Plenty of outdoor space to walk around paved trails or go off the paved areas if you are so inclined and able. Cooling off by taking some time in the indoor learning spaces is great. Want to know how much a bald eagle weighs? They have an exhibit that will help you understand, not just know. Huge catfish and other aquatic life are on display. It's small enough you can give the kids free reign to explore things in their own. Finishing poles are welcomed. Their Learning Center is worth exploring if you have an extra half hour or hour.
