Millard's Crossing in Nacogdoches, TX was a neat place to visit. It's $10 admission and you get to walk through a historical village going through buildings and learning how people lived in the early 1900s. There was a wedding going on the day we went so some of the buildings were closed but it was still a fun day. #fyp #travel #vacation #roadtrip #bucketlist #foryou #foryoupage #history #texas #traveltiktok

One of the air conditioners was not working correctly. We asked them to check on it. They did not get a professional. Their maintenance man checked on it and she said that he was formerly in the A/C industry. Why isn't he currently? is what I should have asked myself. If you're looking for something with rustic charm it is a beautiful venue. None of us however suggest that you use it during the summer months. It was ridiculously hot. One of the people who works there said that her wedding was in one of the buildings in September. She only told us how beautiful it was, but never told us how hot they were until I came in after the wedding to complain AGAIN about the air conditioner not working correctly and our guests being hot. Very unethical. She told me that the buildings are old and we should have considered that. (I should have said the buildings are old they should be properly insulated and air conditioned) She had initially told us, "there are two air conditioners so there'll be no problem keeping it cool. You can turn it down the night before and it'll be nice and cool for y'all." Our mistake was believing that they would both be in working order. (It was actually cooler outside in the shade than it was inside the Rebellion Barn.) One A/C constantly said call for service on the thermostat. It WAS a very beautiful wedding due to my daughter's beautiful choices and decorations that worked really well with the beautiful setting. That's the only reason it gets a whole three stars. It was 5 star decorations and 0 stars for being in working order. I guess I should give it stars for beauty, but if it's too hot to enjoy beauty doesn't matter. They said they were not going to rent it out anymore during the summer months which doesn't help us. She did give us a very small partial refund. So I guess they deserve 1 star. I think it should have been a 1/3 refund. We paid the extra $250 to get into the place the day before and told the lady that came in to check on us that it was very hot. At the time I thought it was just nerves because she said when you come in from outside it's really cool, but when we left the A/C was still not working correctly. They said we should have called someone. When we left everyone was gone and we didn't have any other numbers except the main Millard's crossing number. Also If you rent it the day before they don't let you in before noon and that is not long enough time before rehearsal. For your extra money they should let you in when they open. I hope this helps. Like I say it is a VERY beautiful venue, but do not rent it in the summertime with the hopes that the air conditioner will be working for you. It would be beautiful for a winter event or in the spring before it gets hot or in the fall after it cools down.

My sons wedding very nice venue! Rustic inside barn area for eating after wedding was good had plenty people that was able to nove around without being crowded with a wedding of 85 people there is a handicap ramp to enter the barn. Area at main entrance there we also rented the chapel no ramp FYI it's a older church so it's pretty original if u have a wheelchair or cane or anything it's pretty hard to get in less u are being pretty much carried which we did one of the family members church is beautiful if u like older church vibes I qas told it fits 100 we had 85 still pretty snug in the benches the bathroom option outside the chapel is a no go idk if u have to rent those potty areas or not but they was locked the main entrance barn bathroom was great in size for wheelchair etc My mil had no issues in her chair there over all a good venue!

Last week my family came from out of town for a visit. They had looked up local things to do. They wanted to go to Millards Crossing in Nacogdoches. I have lived in Shelby Co. For almost 14 years and I have never heard of it. They said it was an Easter Egg hunt for my grandson. I normally love festivals but to tell the truth I haven't really been in much of a festival mood. When we arrived all the homes and the yards. I fell in love with it all. I felt as if I had gone back in time. I only made it to two houses because once I was walking up to the old log home with the beautiful big porches. I was lost. I felt a peace come in my heart as I imagined the lives of those before me. I sat on the swing until it was almost time to leave. My husband passed away almost two years ago. It's the first time since he's been gone, if just for a moment. I...
