Boy, I LOVE this place! My replaced knee was not working up to its "new and improved" expectations; I was in pain ALL the time especially during the nighttime hours when it would just throb. My docs kept saying that it would get better but 18 months after surgery/exercises I was a discouraged (and depressed), hot mess. My daughter suggested AF and I went expecting to feel out of place among throngs of young people with beautiful bodies all judging my ancient body. Nothing was as expected: First of all, Stephanie my "personal" trainer (4 intro lessons for 99 bucks), sized up my problem, and BAM! she fixed it (I kid you not--it was scar tissue). Why that had not been picked up on my myriads of "checkups" at the docs' office, I'll never know, but I left the gym practically skipping out the door. That was a month ago and my three visits a week since then have delivered nothing but confidence and hope. Today, "Colin" dropped what he was doing and worked with me on some new equipment and explained how his instructions would aid my recovery even further (there was no charge for this). The place is filled with old/young persons just focused on getting fit and doing their thing. This isn't a clique-y or judge-y place, but a nice, calm atmosphere with helpful people. I am told all employees are licensed/certified in their field -I'm convinced they are pros. I've held such a bias against any exercise venues as my past experiences have all been negative on all of them including the Y, but this place is really something. Really. Swear to God, I'm not related (or even know), anyone connected to Anytime Fitness, just a desperately grateful customer whose been relieved of...
Read moreMy little brother and I walked into this location having been working out as guests of my boyfriend for the past few weeks and just got our own memberships in Connecticut. We walked in through the guest door since our fob didn’t open and we’re rudely called over by a woman named Amanda. Although we had been told in our location it shouldn’t matter too much if we are under the 30 days and communicate to the managers, (and our home managing staff is so welcoming and understanding and helpful), as soon as we got there Amanda had an attitude telling us rudely “you CANNOT come here until the 30 days are up, there’s a reason why your fobs don’t work.” And that was it. She didn’t help us at all or explain any other options to work at their gym, she just went guns a-blazing and rudely told us we couldn’t be here. I understand it’s the rules, I just would have appreciated them being kind to us and explaining any other options. There was barely anyone in the gym and we were not taking anyone’s space. We would have paid for a day pass, but after that encounter, I have a bitter taste in my mouth and would have to be dragged...
