This was by far my least favorite massage experience Iāve ever had⦠I booked this place because my usual therapist was booked and I read all the good reviews.
the massage therapist never introduced herself first of all which I felt was pretty odd. She asked what I wanted and I said my neck, shoulders, low back, and my hands which she responded with āoh you just want whole body then.ā Once I was on the table, I told her if there was any way to increase the temperature since I was really cold and she didnāt say a word back. I thought she didnāt hear me at first, but then I heard her moving things around and she put a heater on. Up to this point, odd but I was still hopeful this could still be an enjoyable experience. Then my 90 min massage began and she spent the whole time on my upper back. She spent maybe 3 min total on my legs and an additional 2 minutes on my lower back. She never did my arms or my hands. Which is not what I requested in person or on the intake form. Her pressure went from feeling like she was gently rubbing oil on me for 30 min to elbowing me with all her weight to the point where I blurted out āouch thatās too much.ā She never really responded to me telling her something was painful. She would dig into my bones instead of my muscle too which was excruciating. Iāve never had a therapist do that before. I asked to adjust the pressure a few times but it would go from 0 pressure to 10 when I asked for more. I even asked for pressure somewhere in between ti clarify at one point where I was met with complete silence. I honestly felt so ignored the whole massage that I was ready to get out of there ASAP. I now feel achy and worse than when I got to the massage center. I was hoping to make this place my regular since itās fairly close to my house, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA far cry from what it once was. It had been some time since I'd been here (i was once a regular). I booked a 30 min "quick fix" (all that was available). Arrived at the scheduled time 6pm, only to be told that my appointment had been changed last-minute to a different masseuse from the one I initially booked because the original masseuse had "maxed out her hours." Not sure how that's my problem?? I was then told that I had two options either do the appointment with the new masseuse or rebook for another day (after driving all the way there for a $65 30-minute session). Also, witnessed five of the staff just hanging out in the common room upon arrival (including the masseuse I originally booked with), all getting ready to go home for the day and bail on this poor girl who was basically left to perform my massage, get me out the door, and close up shop. Terrible form. Terrible way to treat your customers. The massage was...fine? The girl was clearly competent, but had the COLDEST hands I've ever experienced in my life. The first 15 minutes of the massage were so uncomfortable I could not relax and/or enjoy it at all. It was like being stabbed in the back by icicles for 15 minutes. After the massage, something was malfunctioning with the credit card machine and the masseuse spent about 5 minutes fiddling with it and printing off various reports before I interrupted and said "Can't you just charge the card on file?" She replied, "Oh, yeah. of course." All in all, I can't believe I spent $65 on this. Apparently, this place is not what it once was. Won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I was in the Nashville area for work I was in need of some straightening out of the knots in my traps and lower back. I went to look for reflexology centers and stumbled upon ZenBlossom Massage & Wellness. Lucky for me booking online through their site was quite easy and the location in the downtown area made it a no brainer.
When I got to the location I was greeted by Brandy. The office is nice and cozy to make you feel as calm and relaxed as possible. Before beginning the Thai session she asked which parts on my body I was feeling the most pressure and wanted to get straightened out. It was nice to know the why and how process that she was going to implement before we started and the benefits I would gain from the session.
I've traveled through SE Asia and have had Thai style massages all over so I was pleasantly surprised that she was trained in the same manner. The pressure points and knots were all hit and the pain in my traps, mainly the base of my neck, and my lower back were relieved of hours sitting in a chair at the office, car rides and long haul flights.
Her professionalism was top-notch and her work space provided a very welcoming atmosphere opposed to that of my usual high-stress office. If you're looking for a professionally trained therapist, i.e. her certifications from Thailand and India on the wall spoke volumes to me, than don't hesitate to make an appointment. The knowledge you gain from your body and the feeling of rejuvenation in your muscles afterwards...
