I placed an order online for lunch that a friend was picking up. Apparently my order went to the 51st store instead of the West End location. I specifically clicked on West End tab, so I don't know what happened. My friend was told by someone at the store that he couldnt make me a free sandwich because his dad ran that store, and his uncle ran the 51st location but to call the 51st location and ask for a refund. They made me another sandwich which we paid for, which I can completely understand.
I called the other location and asked for the refund as instructed. She said they don't issue refunds for people who make mistakes ordering online but that they would hold the sandwich for me. She was rude about it in my opinion and refused to accept that I was told to call her by someone whose dad ran that store and was the one who told me to call. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said she would see if someone could take the call. I finally hung up after about 8 minutes of holding. I have no doubt she put me on hold and left me there just to be vindictive. If she had been pleasant on the phone, I wouldn't have thought that.
I can't help it that their website didn't accept the West End location despite clicking on it. Their site did get that I wanted a gluten free bun, but even after 3 tries of saying no tomato, it wouldn't accept that. Clearly their site needs a bit of work.
Between their online ordering process and the rude customer service, I will not be going back to 51st, even the one...
Read moreMy fiancé and I used to live at the West 46th apartments- literally less than five mins down the road. We used to get food from the place often. Breakfast sandwiches. Tacos. Chips and guacamole. If it was edible, and from 51st deli; we would eat it! Tonight however, I was in the neighborhood and went to pick up dinner. Placed the order online. They said it would be ready by 5:53 pm. When I got there, it was 5:55 pm. The lady opened the door before I could even get in, rudely asked the name of the order; then handed me the food. But before I could say anything, she rushed me out the door and said, “five more minutes and you would have been out of luck”. Not goodbye. Not thanks for ordering from us. No have a good night. She told me I would have been out of luck had I not gotten there by 6. Well, online it shows that this place is open until 6. So I’m not sure what the problem is, especially considering online it shows that the order would be ready by 5:53, and I pulled up 2 mins later. I don’t imagine we’ll be back ordering food from here in some time. Customer service is everything to me. You know how many good restaurants there are in Nashville, that I can give my money and business to?...
Read moreFirst time visiting. Starting with parking, there aren’t enough spaces for their establishment, be prepared to have to walk a decent ways. Upon entering, we didn’t feel welcome at all. The guy that took our order was on his phone and a good 20 seconds went by before he acknowledged us and proceeded to mumble so low, we couldn’t understand him. We ending up tipping (since they force the option in your face), even though he was unwelcoming, we cleaned our own table and picked up our food from the counter - not entirely sure why there’s even an option to tip. The place was very busy (not sure why since our food was disappointing), but we still managed to find a dirty table to sit at, which we bussed ourselves. We ordered two sandwiches (the West Nasty and a Reuben), both were underwhelming. The West Nasty had good flavor/potential, but the chicken was extremely dry and thin. The only thing carrying the Reuben was the Rye Bread and the Thousand Island dressing, which shouldn’t be the case. The sauerkraut and the corned beef were sadly, very bland. While I’m curious about the other options on their expansive menu, I’m afraid we...
