This is an amazing piece of history that far to few get to experience, either because they don't know about it or don't understand it's historical significance. If you happen to be going to Nauvoo or even find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and make the effort to visit this and the other surrounding sites. This events surrounding the Nauvoo House in the late 1800's had major impact on not only a specific group of people, but on our fledgling country as a whole. To stand on the spot where history was made is an exhilarating feeling. I was very impressed at the industry of these early Mormon settlers and the quality of the workmanship that they exhibited, even in their poverty.
