Buyer Beware: Disappointing Wedding Experience
I recently had my wedding at arbor day, and unfortunately, it was far from the seamless event we had hoped for. Despite multiple verbal conversations with the coordinator well in advance, many aspects of our wedding day were mishandled, making us feel like a lesser priority compared to the other wedding that weekend.
Firstly, the trolley service, which was supposed to run from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, left early, leaving nearly half of our guests stranded. There was no communication about when the last trip was; we were never informed that it was not at 11:00 PM. I received a rude email stating that I "should have told the DJ myself" about the trolley schedule, and the coordinator even suggested that "maybe the DJ should have announced when the last ride was," which was incredibly dismissive. the Dj announced what staff told him. He was told it would run up to 11. She also mentioned that it was a favor from the trolley driver to return, despite the fact that we were charged $760 for the evening.
Additionally, we were promised the upper fire pit. , more accessible fire pit for our bonfire, but my father was able to get down there only with help from multiple guests and a wheelchair. the original coordinator took note of that at our first meeting. It was really important to me because my father has late stage Parkinson's disease and can't walk more than 15 feet anymore. It was frustrating to be gaslit via email, with claims that our conversations about the upper fire pit never happened. The coordinator also stated, "I’m sorry if you didn’t understand which fire pit was the Lower one," which added to my frustration. This made the event really emotional for me as it was the kick off to the wedding festivities and my dad was in a lot of pain.
During the reception, we lost power, which disrupted the flow of our event. The food that was supposed to be available for two hours was put out early, and the wedding team did not communicate this change to the reception staff. This time shift was due to the wedding ceremony starting late, and as a result, guests didn’t have enough time to get seconds, further impacting our celebration.
While I appreciate the efforts of the onsite coordinator to address these issues during the event, the overall lack of attention to detail and communication from the planning team was disappointing.
after the event, the onsite coordinator and other staff sat me down and apologized for how many things went wrong. I felt bad for the guy due to him having no idea what as going on.
during our reception, unknown to me until after the reception, staff went into the room that we were getting ready it and took all of our items and put them in the middle of the lobby. A guest had to go and collect the piles of things that were taken from the room and do her best to deliver them to the bridal parties individual rooms. We were told that we had the rooms until 8 am when we checked in. The staff stated to her "that they needed the other room for the wedding tomorrow". I felt like our space that we paid for was violated.
This really didn't surprise me know. The onsite coordinator mentioned that the other wedding party was difficult to deal with. I took this as they were taking the front seat priority for the weekend sense we were the "laid back couple"
during our food tasting we were (all the 2024 couples) directed to tour the rooms that were reserved for weddings ( the suites and rooms to get ready in) and were told they were all reserved for the brides and grooms for their wedding. when we went to go book them (7 months out from the wedding) they were taken for the whole weekend by the bride and groom for the Sunday wedding. In the after math of all of this, we really felt like we were given a back seat version of what was advertised.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I can’t redo my wedding day, and that makes me incredibly sad. Overall, my experience left much to be desired, and I would not recommend Arbor Day Farms for your...

Tried the peach, cherry, honeycrisp, apple pie, rose and edelweiss and all were delicious, although the sweet and light peach was the winner on a hot day. Spiced apple, cherry, sangria and joy harvest ciders were wonderful also. Spiced apple was our favorite of those. Bonus, you can get your drinks/bottle of wine/growler of hard cider and take with while you explore the whole farm including the tree adventure. Grabbed a bite from Porters BBQ and I have to say it was some of the best around. Pulled pork sandwich came with choice of chips and we added on the mac n cheese and baked beans. The pork was smoked just right and came on a delightful buttery bun that really pulled the sandwich together. 3 sauce choices, original, Carolina and a spicy. The original was good but the spicy was top pick. Just enough heat without killing the taste buds. Mac n cheese was seasoned well and cheesy with a good cheese pull on that first fork full. The baked beans stole the show for us. A smoky chili heavy sauce that was soupier than most places with beans and plenty of huge burnt ends to fill you up. A big bowl of those with cheese and diced onions in the fall could rival most bowls of chili anywhere else. My partner liked them better than Q39's beans if that means anything. Finished the trip with a visit to the Tree Adventure $14 for adults, $12 for kids 3 -12. Kids and adults alike can have plenty of fun exploring the grounds with things to climb on, slide down and be creative. The tree house village was a blast! Although I suggest you keep your hands free cause some of those walkways between the houses are no joke! We had the wondernet in the center to ourselves and bounced and laid back to enjoy the view. There is a section that is wheelchair accessible also. Only about an hour away from most of the metro and a wonderful get away from the...
Read moreVisited here last weekend and it was a good time. Nice friendly crowd. They had a wine tasting tent however that was quite misleading. It wasn't a wine SAMPLING, it was alcohol SELLING. There were absolutely no prices on the flyers they handed you when you walked up. You don't realize it's $12 for four 2.5 ounce samples until you got to the front of the line. It included spiked cider, which was my favorite, and a sage & fruit wine, a sangria and something else. They were all decent but it was kind of pricey.
A huge staple at all carnivals and outdoor events is kettle corn and we couldn't wait to try a bag. UNFORTUNATELY it was a real letdown. Despite having a screen to get rid of crumbs, every single bag at the counter was at least mostly larger crumbs that didn't fall through the filter. And it was expensive. I was hoping for something similar to what we found at the Gretna Days car show. Literally every piece of popcorn in that bag was large & almost perfectly round.
Looking for a mediocre Apple pie? They were selling them for $25. Hardly full of apples. It was mostly thick sauce. We opted for the caramel apple and we tasted absolutely no caramel, it was basically brown decorative stripes on the top of the crust.
It was a fun place to hang out but a let down with the food. The alcohol tent though in my opinion was probably worth it after consideration. It was a very nice setting surrounded by a huge green lawn with picnic tables surrounded by apple trees. It was quite scenic so I would return...
