The only reason I gave a three was the place is beautiful and the breakfast is good. We’ve been twice for breakfast. The reason it only gets a three is the service is pretty bad. I’ve read some of the other reviews and would love to have gotten the service they praised. Both times we went they were not busy. Just a handful of tables. Service was horrible. Our server was never around and we had to seek out others to get anything. Drinks, missing food items. Took our order. Dropped off our food, delivered a check. I always like to give a place a second chance so we decided to come back a second time and brought family with us.
More of the same except this time it was worse. Same situation. Took our order, delivered food, dropped off check. Here is how it was worse. Before we got our food I spilled my drink. We grabbed the dove napkins and tried to clean it up. The napkins wouldn’t absorb any water. So we corralled it and waited to see our server again. When the food finally came I explained what happened and asked if they could bring out a towel to clean it up. The server came back and tossed the towel on the table and left. Leaving me to clean up the spill. Didn’t even attempt to help. Left a pile of napkins just sitting their. So I cleaned it up and set the white towel on the napkins all piled at the empty seat at the table. More food was delivered. Never once did the server take the pile away. Didn’t ask me if I wanted another soda. Nothing. I finally had to ask for another drink and for everybody else at the table. We also had to ask for 5 more napkins. When the server brought the napkins she laid them in a giant mound, you guessed it, next to the pile of dirty napkins. I then handed them out to the table. Ridiculous. The server was oblivious. We ran out of drinks again and never got a refill.
For me the most disappointing part, beyond the pile of napkins and a wet rag just sitting on table was the server dropped off the check while we were all still eating. The server set it on the pile of napkins. What a low class move. That is what they do at Dennys. You take care of your table. Once all the plates are removed you ask if they need anything else. If not, bring the check then. Maybe that is where I expect too much. The place is beautiful so I think I expect a better experience and a better class of service.
If you want a really beautiful place to eat and a good breakfast by all means go to The Timbers. But just know it is a fancy facade. Lipstick on a pig. You’ll get poor service and a frustrating experience. We won’t be back. Two times was enough for us. If a manager made a presence in the dining room and circulated, checked on tables maybe things would get better. It just seems to us they just don’t care. Servers obviously don’t and haven’t been trained to proved a decent level of service.
Hopefully your...
Read moreAmazing experience! My fiancé and I were visiting Lied Lodge for the weekend to consider it for our wedding venue and it was also our 12 year anniversary. We’re huge foodies so good food was make or break for us and WOW is all we can say. Our first night our server was Devon, who checked in frequently, made great suggestions on what we should order and helped create the best experience we’ve had dining out in a long time. We visited for breakfast in the morning, I ordered the chicken fried steak which was super good, the potato hash was delicious (cannot recommend enough) and that night came back for dinner and had a different server Treva, very sweet woman, and Devon was also there, still checking in with us to make sure everything went just as good as when we were one of his tables and it was another outstanding night. The manager seemed to also be working the floor, it didnt seem to be due to staffing as he engaged with guests and seemed to enjoy being in the front of the house, and was very friendly to us. We ordered the caprese flatbread (Devon’s recommendation), the knife burger (solid burger, fries are delicious!), country fried steak, French toast, pretzel bread, the filet mignon and beef ribeye (you haven’t had good potatoes till you have the Timber’s potatoes essentially). All of this was amazing food over the weekend, we were very spoiled by the Timbers. We got the flourless chocolate torte TWICE!!! Because it was that good (once again Devon’s recommendation). We live 45 min away and plan on returning at least once a month to enjoy the food the Timbers has to offer so do yourself a favor and stop in if you...
Read moreSpent a long weekend at the Lodge and went to Timbers for breakfast on Saturday morning. Ordered the country fried steak breakfast. The meat was terribly over processed and had poor flavor. The gravy was just an overly peppered bore. When supper time came around, I decided to at least check the menu, I mentioned my disappointment at breakfast. A man, I assume, to be the manager, approached my table to discuss my breakfast experience. He assured me that supper would be much better. So I decided to give Timbers another chance. I ordered the prime rib.. It presented well. It looked wonderful, cooked well, and juicy. How incredibly deceiving looks can be. Never in my life have I had such a dull, flavorless piece of meat. There was no rub, not even the slightest hint of seasoning what so ever. I believe the flavor would be the same as licking a beef carcass on the butcher block. I'm convinced that while preparing the au jus, they may have waved a piece of steak over the pot. The 3 pieces of asparagus were delicious. The smashed potatoes were ok. I discussed the overwhelming disappointment with the manager guy again, and he asked if I would give them another shot at breakfast in the morning. I laughed and said no, I'll be having an orange. Needless to say, I won't be returning to Timbers anytime soon. I did find a delightful little Italian restaurant in...
