The team at Boston Baby Nurse & Nanny is unbeatable. After coming home with our second baby we felt completely overwhelmed trying to balance her needs, our son's needs, and our needs. We quickly found BBNN and worked with Bryn to find the right nannies. We were happily surprised that they were able to accommodate us without any prior notice (probably not always the case) and set us up with two reliable, knowledgeable, and caring nannies for 5 nights per week. We extended coverage once our initial plan was up because the help was just so invaluable, and Bryn was always very responsive and helpful with our scheduling needs. Our two nannies, Kim and Barb, were unbeatable. They were professional, punctual, responsible, skilled, trustworthy, and so helpful. They washed bottles, breast pumps, and even dishes sometimes! They asked us how we wanted each night to go, when she was expected to eat, what we wanted her to eat (on breast, breast milk, or formula), and any issues she'd been having that day. They completely took over on arrival, allowing us to finally get some sleep. We could always trust that they would handle her with care and compassion similar to our own and that she'd be in the best place possible when we woke up to take over. They kept detailed notes of what happened overnight and would briefly review anything concerning us in the morning. They helped us develop healthy sleeping habits for her and she's growing into an excellent overnight sleeper. We specifically want to call out Barb for how connected, compassionate, and motherly she was when working with us and our daughter. After a couple of weeks she really felt like family to us. She's so nice and can handle any kind of night (up all night or perfectly smooth) that our daughter was having. Overall, the service offered by BBNN is invaluable for new parents even if it's just the first couple of weeks. Sleep is so difficult, and having compassionate help through the worst of it allows you to appreciate the beauty of your family that much more. If for nothing else, you can handle a difficult day more easily when you've had a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this service to...
Read moreFor a new mama who wants support as well as sleep, I cannot recommend Doreen at Boston Baby Nurse highly enough. The phrase that comes to mind, the phrase that I always use when telling my friends about Doreen, is "Mary Poppins." After she's left, you feel like an Instagram filter of little sparkles are shimmering off your baby, your sterilized and organized breast pump supplies, your pile of folded baby laundry, and the smile in your heart. She is so caring, so supportive, so knowledgeable, so professional in her scrubs, so smart, so helpful. One of the things I valued so much is how expertly she knows how to support early breastfeeding. She's a mother of five children, and breastfed each of her children for a year, so when she understood that I needed support building up my supply after a C-section, she taught me how to increase my supply with my pump, and how my body would give me more or less as I needed. She was able to support me with sleep training advice, napping advice, solids advice, all the questions that a new mama can have. Following up on every question that I asked her in the evenings, she would text me interesting articles the following day or even the same night, depending on how urgent my questions were, with wonderful and thoughtful information. She was available as much or as little as I needed, a steadying hand, a cheerful laugh, a rich source of experience and knowledge. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I want also to add that we had wonderful experiences with Boston Baby Nurse as such; the agency was thoughtful, prompt, and helpful in the early days that we were figuring out our needs and who would be our dedicated night nurse. Every single person they sent us was wonderful and competent; many were absolute gems, people you'll remember your whole life. Thank you, Boston Baby Nurse! And thank you, Doreen! We'll remember you always. You were there for us when we really needed you, and you helped us become the mother that...
Read moreMy husband and I were blessed with our first child last Fall, a baby boy. Even while still at the hospital, our son was not a great sleeper.
Over the first 3 weeks at home, our son never slept for longer than 20 minutes at a time during day or night unless he was held. My husband and I each claimed half of the night and stayed up every night so he could sleep on our lap.
Getting that little sleep, with all the stress of a first child, it didn't take long for us to become overwhelmed and exhausted.
Our son is now just over six-months old, and thanks to the incredible support and advice provided by Boston Baby Nurses, is now a great sleeper. We were blown away by the experience and professionalism of the Nurses. On the very first night our team was able to get our newborn son to sleep a few hours at a time while we were able to enjoy a solid night of sleep for the first time in almost a month. They then were able to help train him to consistently sleep through the night.
Beyond their experience and domain-expertise, they were also very positive, supportive, and just genuinely good people. They truly care about him, and our family, and we are so grateful to have had their support during that stressful time.
If anybody is in a similar situation now, feeling overwhelmed coming home from the hospital and looking for help, I cannot more highly recommend this agency. All of the nurses had a long background in newborn/infant care, and many even specialize in the care of premature or otherwise at-risk newborns. The team of nurses and their coordinator Bryn were flexible, accommodating, and trustworthy, and...
