Neosho Newton County Library — Attraction in Neosho

Now that the remodel is complete, the genealogy section is behind locked doors. It's great if you are unemployed and can visit the library between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

For the rest of us? Better plan to miss a day of work. I even went in on my lunch break to sneak a peak at an index and the doors were locked. At 1:00 PM.

The genealogy section was more accessible before the remodel. Now it's pretty much useless.

I was told they have a volunteer in the genealogy room on Saturdays for 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the day but I have not been able to make it in on a Saturday yet.

And of course the library is closed...

This is an amazing library for a small town this size. They have wi fi, they have computers, a variety of movies and music to check out along with a wide variety of books. It is well organized and offers a wonderful haven for readers. By far the best library in the area. Beautiful setting, clean and inviting. The staff is helpful and friendly. Refreshing to find a library that welcomes teens with open arms and involves them in the decision making process for the children and teen programs even offering them opportunities to work with the children.
