Less impressive than I imagined (was cool in fog, though), especially compared to all the other wonderment on the Oregon coast, and a hassle to get to. Unique, though. You cannot park at or even get to the area via the route Google Maps suggests (via Beach Road) as it's a gated community. You have to park at the main lot for the beach by the Hawk Creek Cafe and walk there over much tedious dry sand, quite a ways, and over the tidal creek, which can be a bit stagnant and gross. Best to walk next to the creek as much as you can, where the sand is packed and easier. Sunset low tide would be the best time for photography and lighting. Also, the community of Neskowin is very much not into outsiders and seems to be mostly a retirement golf crowd. Nothing interesting in the town and I wouldn't bother driving through it as they are not fond of that. Might be better on foot as they do have pretty houses and yards.

Read moreThe Neskowin Ghost Forest located at Neskowin, Oregon is a national treasure. As such it should be protected and also it needs its own parking area separate from the beach parking. The aged, handicapped and disabled are unable to visit this wonderful resource because all of the property in front of the ghost forest is owned by the wealthy and anyone visiting has to walk a mile and forge a creek if they use the public Neskowin beach parking and an additional mile to return. At the very least the city of Neskowin should build a pedestrian bridge across the creek so that the handicap do not have to carry extra items or be carried across the creek by others.…The gated community provides no access whatsoever to this wonderful place. Update: My review is rated at one star. LOL. The truth hurts, the wealthy don't...
