Historical Society of Dayton Valley — Attraction in Nevada

What a fantastic collection of historical artifacts and memorabilia from and around the Dayton area. The Dayton Museum pays tribute to the town site of Nevada's earliest settlement it was comprised primarily of Prospectors and settlers looking for gold. Museum has some wonderful artifacts from the mining era as well as exhibits documenting Dayton's growth. The museum is only open on the weekends it is well worth the trip. The Dayton Museum was very interesting and is located in the first Dayton schoolhouse, 1865. We were given a fascinating tour by Vicky, who really made Dayton history come alive for us. There aren't too many places that allow you to touch the artifacts in a museum. Yes it's a small place but it has a lot of history and one of the few place that still sit where it was first erected.
