I would recommend this restaurant. It was the first time eating there and upon a respected word-of-mouth recommendation that their breakfast sausages were most excellent, I was looking forward to it.
I initially selected the biscuits and gravy. However, as I read the menu, I found that they had a Reuben sammy (can be super-sized, btw), which I try to rate new eateries on as a baseline whenever I get the chance.
I was not disappointed. The sandwich was great, large and filling, along with the tater tots that I chose for the side. I was also impressed with the breakfast sausages that were shared with me, cooked crispy on the outside, mildly seasoned yet full of flavor.
Several of the country/home fries that looked so good, were also gifted to me to sample and I'm glad they did. I'll definitely get those next time, because shortly after our order, the kitchen called out there they were fresh out of them on the following order.
Overall, it's a great place for early or late breakfast and/or lunch, with many options to choose from. The staff was personable, prompt, courteous, and I left with the feeling that they believe in what they do. Definitely a diner feel, just not in a bad way, as it was well kept and a welcome departure from the normal eatery food chains.
It'll be my option when I'm back in that area and hungry, as long as I can get there before they close in the...
Read moreLet's start with the positive. The place has a super cute mom and pop feel. The food was fantastic and the place was clean. It was the lunch rush, the tables were full, but there was almost no wait. I really liked the atmosphere as well. There was only one person waiting tables and I think she was very consistent and quick, as well as super nice. The cook was also really nice as he was helping serving.
Now, for the not so good. The tables were too high, we sat at a booth. The table top came to mid chest so I needed a booster seat as well as the kids. I stand at 5' 4". The fountain drink, Pepsi was watery so we switched it to Dr. Pepper and it was over carbonated so it burned your mouth to drink it. The orders were messed up. I ordered a simple BLT on sour dough with cheese tattor tots, I was given a BLT on white, with French fries. The French fries were supposed to be for the kids with the grill cheese. So I slid it over to them. They brought me some tattor tots but no cheese. I ate the BLT anyways and it was phenomenal. I did not tell her the sandwich was wrong, I hate wasting food! I still paid full price as I should have because I did eat the phenomenal sandwich, but at 1.99 per fountain drink, and no cheese on the tots???
At any rate, I will eat here again because the food was outstanding. If you don't mind a few hiccups in service and want excellent...
Read moreI very seldom write reviews on a first time visit but, I have also never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. Today was the very first day that I tried to go to this restaurant, I got denied service for a to go order because they were too busy, absolutely ridiculous how rude the guy was couldn't even smile when I walked in the very first time. I walked in to pick up a menu he says we're busy there's a wait, didn't smile at anybody and say hey folks how you doing, nothing, nice. Then when I come back he says are you gonna make a to go order, and I said yes I am he said I can't do it we just got to busy. Sorry bout that. Again no greeting or smile. When I walked into that building it was busy, but that's the first time and last time I will ever try this restaurant I can't believe they can't hire enough people or stay open long enough to serve people, in this small town. 1st time going got bad service and didn't even get to order. Rude and very sad. I was hoping for a better first impression, cause the previous reviews made this out to be...
