We weren’t sure what to expect when a friend recommended Lost in New Haven, but we were completely blown away. My wife, our 11-year-old son, and I spent the afternoon there, and every one of us found plenty to love.
Our son was captivated by the real 1950s Atomic Energy Lab set, the model trains, the Silly Putty exhibit, and even a display on the history of lollipops. I was fascinated by the exhibit on Benedict Arnold’s house—also once home to Daniel Webster—and loved seeing the original layout of New Haven and how it’s changed over time. My wife really enjoyed the World War I recruitment posters and the incredible rock-and-roll memorabilia.
We even learned about the origins of Chase Bank’s logo—something I never expected to find interesting!
The highlight of our visit was being given a tour by the museum’s founder. He’s not only funny and passionate but truly brought the city’s history to life. His enthusiasm was infectious.

Read moreThis was an amazing museum. It is astounding that one person is primarily responsible for amassing so many artifacts related to one small American city. It is a testament to new havens influence on American culture but also to America itself. This museum has everything that you could imagine. Even if you aren't from New haven but interested in history it can hold your attention for hours. Robert Greenberg is a wealth of historic knowledge and his stories about the artifacts were incredibly entertaining and interesting. They have done a wonderful job setting up the exhibits. This is a very big museum in a renovated warehouse. So much stuff! Guided tours only. They do hold events. Show your support and take a tour. You...
