Simply put, the worst part about this beach are the people who go here. Beach parking is $25 on weekdays & $30 on the weekend. You cannot leave and come back, you have to pay again. They STILL charge for parking after 6pm! The beach area is nice. The sand is soft white, and very fine. The beach area itself is very wide, with plenty of room to set up from the boardwalk all the way to the edge of the water. NOTE: they *do not* allow beach umbrellas to be set up in the areas from where the lifeguards sit to the water line. They will make you move your umbrellas to any area behind where the lifeguards sit. It would be helpful if this policy was written anywhere, or if there was a sign placed. It's annoying to set up, only to have a lifeguard make you move and re-set up. It happened to multiple people throughout the day, and every one of them annoyed. There are buoys set up in the water, 20-30 feet from the shore, and the lifeguards are constantly whistling when swimmers go past them. Very annoying, especially considering they're absolutely not far out. There is a Kiddie Play area where you can buy tokens to ride small carnival rides. It's $10 for an unlimited ride wristband on MONDAYS. There is a waterslide area with 4 waterslides, $4 per slide or $14 for an unlimited slide wristband ($10 on Wednesday) There is a large Olympic sized swimming pool, $10 to enter. You can come and go all day with the wristband on. There is a FREE small splash park next to the pool, as well as a playground next to that. You can buy hot food and drink on the small boardwalk. Beware, a fried dough costa $15! Ocean Beach Park has lots to offer other than just a beach. My kids loved going to the pool, and spent more time there than they did in the ocean, and they wanted to come back. The PROBLEM with Ocean Beach Park is the people who go here. Almost every other group of people have loud music playing, we tried to set up away from people with speakers, but, they're everywhere, and seem to be more frequent here than other beaches. As others have said, the pot smoking was a constant throughout the day. You could smell it coming from different directions throughout the entire beach. At one point I had to leave the ocean water because a family was spitting out mouthfuls of watermelon and it was just everywhere floating in the water. All in all, I would rather explore other beaches in the area before returning here. Misquamicut isn't that much further down.

Great place! Our family's favorite beach :) Entertaining place for children of all ages! Spend the day on the beach the sand is so clean and the water is clear, very little seaweed if any and not many rocks to hurt little feet. Small-medium size waves, perfect for kids. Lifeguards are on beach. Lots to explore here with little trails leading to tide pools with crabs. Free splash pad for up to age 8, was really nice to rinse off the salt & sand. There are also outdoor showers in the splash pad. The bathrooms are great, they do a good job trying to keep them clean. There is a nice playground with swings on the beach. There are rides, pool, waterslides and arcade for additional fees. We paid for day parking was like $25. We just happened to be there on a monday night and the kids could get a wristband for $10 and go on endless rides from 5-8pm which saved us alot of $$$. But, be aware if your kid is under 36 inches they demand an adult rides with them for most rides and that is an additional cost. You have to purchase tokens for each ride. I was not happy they would not allow my 9 year old to ride with my 3 year old and i had to buy tokens to go on a kiddie ride with my three year old that I didn't even fit on comfortably. They also don't have enough staff working so only half the rides are available because one person is running multiple rides. We attempted to hit up the arcade on the way out it was almost 9pm and they closed. Very disappointed, the kids were excited to play games after the staff had said they close at 10pm. It's summer and most people want to stay out late and have fun! Too bad they closed early. So in stead we got ice cream on the boardwalk. Overall, my kids were happy! We just love to go here to enjoy the beach anyway. 🏖️🌊🐚

This is a huge beach with lots to offer the whole family! Boardwalk, soft serve icecream and food stand, gift shop, Watersildes, arcade, bar, mini golf, volley ball, playground, splash park, picnic area, swimming pool, a gym and more!! I deffenitly recommend checking out their website for more info, events, etc. It is a bit pricey to park $17 weekdays & $23 weekends, $80 for a season pass and $120 for a flex pass with additional cost for everything else. If you can find oarking or dont mind a walk you can walk in at $6 per person. Its free to wall in after 6pm. I recommend bringing food. Their watersildes could use remodeling as well as the miniature golf course because they both look like they could use some TLC. Cell phone service is not good at this beach. However the beach itself is beautiful and the park and splash park are free. Deffenitly recommend coming to visit at least once to exsperience it for yourself. Don't forget to walk all the way down the boardwalk by the rocks where the creek is, its beautiful and there' lots of hermit crabs and crabs down there to catch.

Needs a serious renovation. The beach itself is nice. The sand goes from nice and soft at the top, and than down by the water, more rocky, but small rocks. Nothing that hurts to walk on. Honestly our worst part of the trip was the ice cream! They had soft serve, that was not soft- it was liquid! And they still were charging full price for a bowl of milk. It was honestly making me so angry and I’m glad my husband was able to get me away from there without flipping out. You couldn’t order a cone if you wanted to, because well, liquid ice cream! It was an absolute disaster. And a serious waste of money after spending $40 for parking. I didn’t see anywhere to change out of bathing suits. The bathroom floors were covered in sand and water- there was a woman in there trying to clean the floor but honestly she was just moving it around. So changing in the bathroom was out of the question. I do like that there’s the option to pay $10 for the pool, and there were some other attractions (small Ferris wheel, water slides) but I didn’t see anyone using them.
