MESCALERO LAKE is a man made lake like rest of the lake in NM. The Mescalero tribe did a very nice job with it.It is 110 acres resivor;stocked with 20,000 trout.Since the reservation is private you will have to pay to fish it.There is a walkway that runs along the lake on the south side.Is a pretty walk when the sun and blue ski is out.ther is a water fountain which main reason is to put extra oxygen in the water for the fish,itconstantly is onat certain times of the day,the sun hits it and causes a small rainbow very nice...

This is a good sized lake., plenty of room to take a nice stroll., bike ride., walk., etc. When we went., on a Thursday., the paddle boats were closed., but apparently they have available paddle boats for rent., as well as other activities to do.
