Mescalero Lake — Attraction in New Mexico

MESCALERO LAKE is a man made lake like rest of the lake in NM. The Mescalero tribe did a very nice job with it.It is 110 acres resivor;stocked with 20,000 trout.Since the reservation is private you will have to pay to fish it.There is a walkway that runs along the lake on the south side.Is a pretty walk when the sun and blue ski is out.ther is a water fountain which main reason is to put extra oxygen in the water for the fish,itconstantly is onat certain times of the day,the sun hits it and causes a small rainbow very nice...

The lake rite behind the inn at the mountain of the gods hotel. This is a good sized lake., plenty of room to take a nice stroll., bike ride., walk., etc. When we went., on a Thursday., the paddle boats were closed., but apparently they have available paddle boats for rent., as well as other activities to do. They also have a good sized playground for kids to go to. Special events that happen at the lake often. Overall a good lake to visit., glad we went., look forward to...

Beautiful lake! It is calm and peaceful and looks so blue and clear. This lake is on the Mescalero Apache Reservation which has its own laws, rules, and regulations. New Mexico laws do not apply here. You must have a fishing permit from the Mescalero Apache tribe. New Mexico fishing licenses do not allow you to fish on the Mescalero Apache land.
