The Posi Pueblo Ruins trail starts off from the back of the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs resort property. Just follow the paved sidewalk between the Artesian restaurant and the front desk building- the sidewalk will become a dirt trail. The trail starts out steep with loose gravel to get you up the hillside, and then the trail on top of the Mesa is easy and flat. Watch for cacti- wear proper boots and bring hiking poles if you need help getting up or down the hillside. There are broken pottery pieces in many places- ie the ‘ruins’. The views from on top are wonderful, you can see the surrounding mountains and valley, as well as an aerial perspective of the Ojo Caliente resort. Bring water. Can be windy up there, and no shade. If you are staying at Ojo, it’s definitely worth the time, and reward yourself with a soak!

Glorious area with hot springs and hiking galore. Also lots of rock climbing options in nearby el rito, of that is your thing. Many family owned pizza and Mexican restaurants, As well as a delicious Cuban food truck outside of the entrance to the Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. This is an area with something for everyone. Camp at nearby lake Abiqui. We'd found it quite peaceful!

Nice easy hike to the Posi ruins, perfect for following relaxation in the hot springs at the resort. Great views and neat pottery shards. The beginning of the trail is a little steep, but once you do that the rest is flat.
