Arverne East Nature Preserve — Attraction in New York

At Beach 44th street the NYC Parks Department has a nice little spot with a parking lot. It includes a long ramp making it accessible for strollers, and wheelchairs. Bicycle racks and benches are available outside. Huge solar panels assembly on the roof. Inside has some needed shade for those hot days. Water fountains, unisex restroom, hand washing stations, and bench are inside. Offices make up the perimeter and what may become a meeting/community space. Underrated place to park near Rockaway Beach. I couldn’t find a parking spot at the main site, but came across this place which was completely empty. I've ridden my bike here from Prospect Park several times since I discovered it a couple of months ago. I love this park and all the smooth, winding paths. It looks beautiful now that all the plants have really filled in.
