Beautiful and secluded neighborhood park with a series of connected ponds. The ponds actually are inhabited by blue herons! Bring your proper DSLR camera and telephoto lens, or a pair of binoculars, and keep quiet - those gorgeous birds are easily spooked. There is plenty of picturesque pond vegetation, like lily pods and bright flowers for contrast. The trails are well-maintained and marked. There is a parking and a visitor/nature center with picnic tables and plenty of space to "get lost" while having fun and being close to civilization. There are two large ponds in the area, one being what the park is named after, and yes- a Blue Heron lives there among ducks, geese, frogs, small birds, crows, rabbits, skunks, deer and many more.
