Read moreThis big octagon was the highlight of my visit to governors island, in fact it was the only reason I let myself get dragged along here. Everything else on this island is aimed at people who like the curves of nature and the old architecture of men, but this is the only thing on the island that speaks to those of us who appreciate the geometric perfection of mathematics. 10/10 experience seeing it, I will come back again many times to observe it. I really hope one day they let you cross the little bridge and go up to it in person rather than just letting us observe its majesty...
