Lavender Field on Governors Island — Attraction in New York

A 'Lavender Patch' in New York City! Less than 10 mins from Wall Street NYC Ferry Terminal, it'd transport one to another world! 'Lavender dreams, where happiness blooms.' A great place to spend 45-60 mins ...don't forget to speak to Hollis, the person who run this 'field', not only she is very knowledgeable of all the lavenders but fun and friendly!

It's a cute little patch not really a big field. I was there during the "Lavender Festival" and, unfortunately, it was underwhelming. There weren't many lavender themed goods for sale nor educational programs. The volunteers seemed to be very busy picking the lavender but there weren't any bunches being sold. This Field is fun to stumble upon but I wouldn't make it the center of a Governors...

We had a great time here volunteering with Earth Matter this morning. Their staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming and taught us how to harvest and bundle the beautiful lavender that grows here.
