Key Food Supermarkets — Attraction in New York

I do NOT recommend this "supermarket".

Generic brands at premium prices!!

I would ONLY utilize this market if I had absolutely no other choice. They are taking advantage of an already financially strapped community This location rarely ever carries the typical brands that you see in a grocery store. They have a lot of the generic brand which I assume is a Key food owned brand (Urban Meadow). Urban Meadow cost more at this grocery than other typical brands.

I tried to buy hot dog buns and they were a dollar cheaper at the deli across the street, which is unusual. The grocery store is supposed to be cheaper than a deli. I would rather (AND DO) walk the extra 5 blocks to the Fine Fare further down.

I will say they are always fully stocked in whatever off brand product they do carry. However check the expiration date on EVERYTHING!!. I've seen expired food on shelves.

They don't have everything here like all the super healthy organic stuff. I have some stomach issues so I can't eat certain foods and others have to be gluten free & stuff like that. They have some but not enough really. The staff is friendly. The only thing is right now I'm not shopping here because there's this whole thing going on with their meet department. I've heard both ideas & honestly keyfood is being a jerk right now. They're taking away their retirement and mking them pay for medical. Theres signs in the stores that are calling them liars but when you read what they wrote & talk to the actual people who've been working in that store for years, you'll see that keyfood is the one that's trying to slander these people. My mom belongs to a union & it made me think about what if she went to retire & they were like, nope sorry. You're screwed. I'd be beyond upset. Please don't shop here until this problem...

Terrible service from one of their cashiers with a nose piercing probably in her 50’s or 60’s. First off I stand and wait for her to finish gossiping with another coworker of hers and her coworker told her to pay attention to me but she kept talking and ignoring me standing there. Finally she scans my items and tells me the total amount and refers to me as “sir” i have a short haircut but I had makeup on and my nails done. When i corrected her she looks at another customer behind me and laughs it off. I told her that she was very disrespectful to me and she asked me why acting like she didn’t know what she did. I was in a rush and couldn’t ask for a manager. But if you ever go to this keyfood avoid scanning your items with her she is rude and disrespectful. I am very upset with this service the cashiers need to be more respectful with customers. I don’t shop here to be...
