We did a special date night this past Saturday and made it a little trip from Uptown Manhattan by taking the ferry from Pier 11, turned out to be fun! Not to mention it's always a nice excuse to enjoy our world famous skyline.
I've bookmarked this place for awhile now and was excited to finally try it. Couldn't get reservations via Resy anymore so tried the walk-in route and was given a great table by the patio. First sign that things are gonna be good when you see a really diverse staff welcoming you nicely. Covid-19 procedures in place are taking your temperatures before being seated and excellent social distancing among tables.
As for the food, my goodness, we wanted to try it all! We do IF so this was our only meal for the day and we decided to indulge. We got a bottle of Prosecco, which was perfectly chilled and was also put in a wine bottle chiller, really appreciated that. We ordered the Hot Crab Dip with potato chips, this was really good! The Calamari was also good with a mayo dip and another spicy chili dip, just wish it had more crisp in it. The Connecticut Lobster Rolls were amazing and was truly what we were craving for. Delicious, perfectly seasoned, and more importantly, generous with lobster meat, which we felt was a good value at $26 each. The fries that came with it were also perfect! We also ordered a lobster dinner to share which was at $31 each. This was expectedly good for a lobster, but honestly thought we found better value getting the lobster roll.
Overall, we loved almost everything, the staff and service was also great! Will be happy to go back anytime soon. My husband and I were laughing that we actually ended up spending more here than at Peter Luger, but hey, as long as we get incredible value for what we pay for, right? Highly recommend! So glad we have this place for when that New England feel and craving strikes!...
Read moreNot from the area so this was my first time and I was beyond impressed. The service and food just kept getting better and better!
For starters, there is a cute outdoor hub for plenty of seating options but it was raining so we decided to eat inside even though the hub is mostly covered. I have a wheelchair and the staff quickly made us aware that there was a ramp available on the side to enter because there is one approximate 6” step to enter the restaurant.
Once inside, I had to change a diaper, and there is a sign that notifies you for their larger bathroom to ask for a changing table if need be. We asked, they delivered a portable wide changing table! She said she would collect it later, just let her know when we were done.
Calamari was great! I was nervous about trying a lobster roll because I’m not a fan of bread accompanying my lobster but my mind was BLOWN. The bread was soft and buttery and extremely flavorful! The lobster cheese fries were wonderful, the cheese sauce was real cheese and so tasty.
They have lots of lemonade flavors to choose from. I chose watermelon and it tasted like watermelon juice which isn’t a bad thing, I just didn’t taste lemonade.
Banana mousse pudding I would HIGHLY recommend!
Most of the food was lukewarm and I don't have to have it piping hot, but it could have been warmer.
It’s very cute inside, I remember looking at the cute picture frame in the bathroom along with the boat window for a mirror and rope for lighting. The decor is very fitting and while it’s a small restaurant, it’s spacious and it seems like it could accommodate any size group of people.
They have a bar as well. Fun drinks.
From the wait staff to the bartenders to the chef, they all work as a team and were all super helpful and just a wonderful environment...
Read moreI had such great expectations for this place, reading all those raving reviews. Hmmm... My review is based solely on purchasing Lobster Bisque and New England clam chowder for takeout, in the evening, in the middle of the week. Well, don't do that. Both soups were among the worst I've ever had. Lobster Bisque had absolutely no bits of lobster in it as it should, not even some tiny ones, none at all. It was so smooth, as if they mixed some baking flour with broth they got from boiling lobsters, so it would have some lobster taste and this slightly thickened consistency. At least, it was somewhat eatable. Clam Chowder, though, was actually spoiled. Yep, you know when milk gets spoiled, it curdles, so the same was with this soup. Maybe it's because it was loaded with huge amounts of small bits of celery, but I think it was just old, and it happened when it was reheated. Complete waste of $$. Straight to garbage disposal. Again, as I said, I got these soups late evening in the middle of the week, when the place was absolutely empty, so I am giving them a benefit of the doubt that it was some isolated case. But I would rather hear from them that "sorry, we are out of soup" instead of selling me a spoiled one. Maybe their lobster rolls are amazing, but I won't be able to find that out since my first experience was such a bad one. Don't let my review discourage you from visiting this place. It looks cool, and two workers I interacted with were great. Just don't...
