Randall's Island is possibly the worst experience one can have if attending a child's soccer tournament. The tournaments should be called "NYC TICKET OPENER" or ." NYC TORTURE DAY", It is basically a way for the City of New York to collect thousands of dollars in parking fines and at the same time fail to provide not nearly enough restrooms or portable toilets . I would guess that 25 percent of the families trying to have a nice day at their child's sporting event ( which could last an entire day) goes home with a $100 or $250 ticket. Persons are ticketed even you do not pull in to a space in the right direction . For some reason the big parking lots right next to the fields are closed on the day of the tournament compelling families to walk a mile or a 1/2 mile in a desperate search for parking, Then there are lots where you can get to by bus, but the driver will not speak if you ask them a question or if they will be dropping you anywhere close to the game. In addition, if you just cannot wait for the bus it is a little intimidating to take the walk when you pass buildings enclosed by barbed wired fences. However, what is most egregious is that I believe NYC collects money to rent out these fields but provides no extra bathrooms or portable toilets for the hundreds pf players and their families. The portable toilets were at the fields but where all locked last Saturday when I was there present. I saw a man being threatened with a ticket when he tried to relieve himself behind a tree because he did not think he could make it to the bathroom about 1/4 mile away from the field. Randall's Island presents a terrible image for NYC. There were boys from all over the country and one team was from England and I was embarrassed...

Read moreI came here in the late afternoon and fortunately the beautiful sunset was there welcoming me. I wish to revisit the place because there are so many spots i haven’t had a chance to see it. I feel tranquil being there because there are no many people. Coming there is like a free therapy for me, lying down on the grass while looking at the sky changes its color. The place is clean. It’s perfect to have a short picnic. Unfortunately i do not see many...
