Utopia Barber Shop — Attraction in New York

This place is ok, I just recently started going here for beard trimming, and as I said it's more than adequate for a quick trim or shave, I can't remember the gentlemans name that I use, he usually pays very good attention to the task, but there have been a few rare occasions when the job done left a little to be desired.

This place is clean, the barber I use cleans all his tools before using them, which is very important to me considering the possibility of getting some type of skin condition or something from improper hygiene.

All n all I can recommend this place for facial hair shaving and Grooming, I've never gotten my haircut in this place so I can't comment on that, I will say they seem very well-equipped to handle small children possibly getting their first haircuts, they have the fun little Aeroplane or car chairs that kids love they also provide little tablets for the kids to play on or play with while they're getting...

Came here to get my son's haircut (17 month old) as new customers. My husband and I decided to choose Ray and waited until he was available. Ray was very friendly but did not take his time with our son at all. When 2 more customers came in for him, he rushed our son's haircut and did a terrible job. He butchered his right back side, which is completely uneven with the left (displayed in picture). When we asked for him to fix it, he kept saying that it was good. Will not be coming back to this barbershop in the future. It seems like they chose babies/kids as a target audience cause it's super fast ($25 for a 5-10min cut no matter how little hair) and the baby/kid cannot complain. Easy money maker as opposed to grown adult men that take about 30 mins for a $25 haircut.

I took my 7-year-old autistic son who is sensitive with noise. I had to sit with him in a locking position to keep him still while a barber cut his hair. Previously at home to cut his hair, it usually takes two adults holding him while a third person cuts his hair, and even so, it takes more than an hour to finish the whole hair cut. Needless to say, everyone is exhausted by the end of the haircut. The hair cut done at this place, however, was done in just five min or so. The barber was so efficient! I noticed that the clipper used for haircut made much less noises than the one I used at home. This was a great plus! I am sure the barber who cut my son’s hair was very skilled. Overall, I was very happy with the whole experience and will definitely take my son to this...
