Extremely dissatisfied with this hotel experience. This hotel has many areas of improvement. Elevator When I arrived there as only 1 working elevator - this appears to be a recent common complaint. The elevator always stopped on the 2nd floor although no one was there. I've heard that it stops on every floor. Even a pilot from one of the local airlines commented that it always stops on the 2nd floor for the last 6 months. -1 star service Shower The shower took some getting used to. The plunger to direct water from the faucet to the shower head would only do so if the water was at full pressure, which meant the water had to be all the way over to hot. Then the temperature could be dialed back to warm, etc. I had to start the shower to make sure my children didn't get burned. -1 star rooms Stains Our mattress had some large dark stains on its side which were only visible because the fitted sheet was not pulled all the way down on the corner. The chair in our room had a bunch of unpleasant looking stains in it. -2 star rooms Cleanliness I found a random blue pill on the floor of our room. This could have easily been an issue with a family that has younger children / toddlers / infants etc. This makes me wonder how well the hotel rooms are maintained. -1 star rooms Parking There is no place to park if you arrive late. I was told to park in an area that was directly next to a fire hydrant. I instead parked between the fire hydrant and the fire hose hookup. I slept light just in case there was an emergency during the night and I needed to move my car. In the morning, you can see how many people parked on curbs, corners, anywhere they could find space. -1 star location Breakfast Area All the plastic utensils are inserted into the holders with the mouth portion facing out despite the containers having labels. The hotel should really invest in plasticware dispensers. The bagel / toaster oven is danger close to the left most cereal dispenser. Parents need to be extremely careful with children in this area or simply just get the cereal for their children. -1star service

Fairfield Inn & Suites Newark Liberty International Airport is a decent option for an overnight stay near the airport, though it has its pros and cons. To reach the hotel from the airport, head to the P4 pickup area. Depending on whether you are coming from Terminal A or Terminal C, you may need to take a bus or train first. Once there, you can expect the shuttle to arrive within about 30 minutes. When I visited, the hotel was undergoing modernization, which is not ideal while you are there, but the updates should be a welcome improvement for future stays. My room was slightly larger than a standard hotel room, and it looked as you would expect for a Fairfield Inn. The furniture and linens were clean, and the bathroom felt somewhat modern. Overall, it was comfortable for my one-night stay. I did not have time to check out the gym, but I assume it is similar to most hotel gyms. The breakfast was the usual continental fare with some hot items like eggs, egg sandwiches, bacon, sausage, and a waffle maker, along with fruits and other basics. It was nice to have a free breakfast available. If you need the shuttle back to the airport, be aware that you have to schedule it in advance. It does not run continuously, so it is best to confirm your departure time when you check in. Overall, if you just need a quick one-night stay near Newark Airport, Fairfield Inn & Suites meets the essentials. I will likely try other hotels in the area to find my preferred choice, but this property should work well for travelers looking for a convenient overnight stop.

This hotel smells and is older. They’re doing major renovations and didn’t mention that when reserving the room. There’s legit a full construction crew sawing and banging hammers at 8am on a weekend. That’s insane. Stay somewhere else nearby..

Not sure where 4 stars came from. My first room was raining (see video). When I asked to be switched to a different room, it seemed to be a hassle for the staff. She made me wait in line again for new room. The new room wasn’t clean and tub did not train. This place is nasty. My colleague stayed next door at courtyard a d had a great experience.
