Working on your push up strength and not seeing the progress you’re wanting? Push ups are a full body exercise and when dropping to your knees you’re working the upper body but what about your core? Try elevating! Find an elevated surface that is challenging for you. Beginners can even use a wall. Think nose to wall. Start in a high plank position, engage your core, squeeze your glutes to create a straight line with your body. Inhale as you lower your chest, exhale as you extend your arms back up. Once elevated is no longer a challenge go to the floor and lower your body, drop to your knees to help you come back up. Go back to your toes & repeat. Some at home elevated surfaces you can practice with would be: a curb, a step stool, a chair, side of your couch, table, bed and kitchen counter. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I have tried every gym and style of workout, several different trainers, a variety of from-home programs and Burn Newnan outshines them all by far. From the moment you walk in the door, you are welcomed and treated like family. The trainers and staff know your name and who you are on a personal level. If you miss camp, they check to see if you are ok. When I was dealing with an injury, I had a handwritten note wishing me well sent to my home. Where else do you receive that kind of support and care?! I honestly look forward to going to Burn which is why I have seen such growth in my confidence, strength and cardiovascular health. You want to show up for yourself and see so many encouraging faces! Burn Newnan is so welcoming to all ages, genders and fitness levels. Don’t be afraid to try it! I was definitely intimated at first but you quickly see no one is judging or paying attention outside of their bubble. There are always modifications and the trainers are eager to assist and help. I’m so grateful for this community and gym…it has changed my life and self both inside and out. PLEASE do yourself a favor and give it a try. You will be supported, loved and encouraged. I started BURN in April with a 30 day trial. I had friends who loved it and I hoped it would be a good fit for me. Over the years I’ve tried trainers, gyms, classes, a treadmill at home. I’ve spent a lot of money on fitness that didn’t “stick” and didn’t keep me challenged. Within two months of going to BURN Newnan my workouts went from something on my to-do list to something I cannot get enough of. I now get up each morning to attend the 6:30AM class and I constantly ask myself “who even am I?” I’ve lost 15 pounds but the best part is my energy level and the way my clothes fit.
