Newport dunes is not the same, be prepared for a full background check before you stay there. All the employees will know everything about you. I stayed there for a few days and was asked to leave and I have no idea why? I was a very good neighbor quiet respectable. The staff has changed and management, they're having problems in the back Of the property with drug dealing and riffraff. They seem very unorganized. I was speaking with the maintenance manager and his breath smelled like alcohol during the day. Something very unusual is going on there it's just not the same as it used to be a few years ago. The view is nice and being by the water is awesome. I had A Mexican American friend there helping me set up they followed him to the restroom with their carts while he was taking a shower and kept going in to the area checking on him .It was very invading and disrespectful of them .I feel they do not like Mexican people as guest. Since my review the Newport dunes has reply saying you had a barricade fence for dogs which is not allowed. Also claiming their employee does not drink alcohol. A lot of guest in the park have 3 and 4 dogs. They also have 4' fencing around their RV. My portable fencing was 5' tall because I have a Siberian husky that I did not want to jump. He is my service dog very well mannered. They came by and asked me to move the fence. I Tried to figure out a alternative to this. The very next day they gave me notice to leave the park. I contacted the director he put me on speaker phone. I let him know I was so Surprised and shocked I was being asked to go. I did not understand why they never made it clear to me. The only thing he talked about was my portable fence. Then he told me I could never ever come back to the Newport dunes again ever! Wow... This place is very unorganized And disrespectful. If they're going to have rules they should keep them across-the-board many of the people have 4' fencing 8' bamboo Frence. I still believe there was some other reason Why they ask me to leave with in one day?. During the holidays at that. I was put in a very badd Stressful predicament for no reason. Newport dunes has fired many people and has a huge staff turn over they do not even have a perminent director right now. It's a mess. Know if you have a dog and want to take them in their so called dog run area be careful there is dog feces all over it to the point where you can't even let your dog go in there Unless you want him to step all over it. I am not saying these things because I am upset. At all .I just want the public to be aware of these problems and hope it never happens to...

We just finished up two weeks here

Pros: •Clean •Pool and hot tub was nice - good temperature • water was decorated beautifully for Christmas • had some activities for the kids (cons would be they never put up what January activities were which sucked since those were our off days and we could have utilized it) •kids loved the park • great store in the park with a little Bit of everything •great laundry area - loved that it accepted credit card. Sad that rust from a machine left a huge rust mark all over my Kate spade comforter. Hoping a dry cleaner can get it off

Cons: •Sand in site, if I’m paying anywhere near that much for a site, it would be nice if they were all a concrete pad to park on • Power issue was never resolved - open neutral fault kept occurring well using a surge protector, they tried to fix the problem but it was never resolved so we just ended up having to plug into the 30amp without the surge protector instead of the 50amp. • Leaf blowers every morning was loud, and for a very long time. I loved that everything was clean, and we’re up early anyway but it just seemed so continuous •Wifi was great when it worked but it kicks you off constantly requiring you to log on. Very annoying if you are working. • there was SO many dogs around, all barking and barking at each other it was just a lot. •Raising prices for fire pit rentals because it’s holidays is kind of sad. You already have high prices for RVs and increased the the rate to stay there Over holidays. Well I’m on that subject, raising all prices for rentals on a holiday is sad. • Overall price felt very high!

It’s too bad we went on a off season and the inflatable stuff wasn’t in because it looked fun!

Families looking to do: Disney - we felt this was a decent spot. Disney took about 20-25 minutes. Universal studios - about an hour Legoland - just over an hour

This is walking distance from Balboa Island (14 minutes) where they had great little restaurants, shopping and well we were there a great boat show (110th annual decorating boat thing for Christmas). Make sure to get a balboa bar - they’re famous since 1945!

We walked to “fashion island” for a movie, which took about 30-40 minutes and that was a nice walk!

Generally speaking this was a decent place to stay, we felt the area ( FOR US ) was a little busy and did prefer the vibe of Oceanside (paradise by the sea) we stayed in last time in the area, but it was nice to try a new place.

We fit in our site, but there was ALOT of larger campers a little grumpy because they had to hang out like 5 ft, when they apparently booked the...

This place was awful. We paid tons of money to stay at this place, and everything about it was ridiculous. 1: We could only have 6 towels at a time, even though we had more people (and were allowed to). 2: You had to pay to play on the floaty water park even during open swim, and it was a ridiculous price, and there were only like 3 toys to play on, most of which kept deflating. 3: My sister got bit by an eel, the other a jellyfish, and my cousin got attacked my some weird thing in the lagoon leaving a giant rash on his leg. 4: Cousin was approached by a pedophile who was LIVING at the park. Called security 3 times before the issue was discussed (this was never resolved, he is probably still lurking). 5: You had to pay a ridiculous amount to wash laundry, and they weren't even full sized washers. 6: Lofts were ridiculously short, even for children. They could have raised the ceilings at least another 2 feet and it would have prevented our sister from falling down the stairs. 7: The keys for the cabins only unlock the deadbolt not the knob, so we were locked out for a half hour before someone came to let us in. 8: No fires after 10, so no hanging out for smores with your family during a reunion. -.- 9: They don't have group rates. So even though we paid for enough cabins and spaces to accommodate 71 people (also at a ridiculous price) we had to pay a ridiculous amount to participate in any of the activities. 10: The air conditioning in the cabins didn't work most of the time. Also said they would fix it, but never did. 11: The wi-fi was ridiculously slow, and wouldn't work half the time. 12: The beach was nasty and polluted with glass and litter, as well as dog crap. 13: They told us check-in time for the cabins was 2, and when we arrived at 2, they said it wouldn't be ready til 4. So we had to sit in 100 degree heat waiting for our cabin with a 2 year old. 14: Roads had lots of blind spots, and the children were almost hit multiple times by cars just crossing from their RV site to their cabin.

To say the least I was not impressed, and we definitely will NOT use this place again. Don't...
