SHOR American Seafood Grill — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Yesterday, Easter Brunch, certainly exceeded me and my whole families expectations. I can say to management, please update your online photos! Your establishment is so much prettier then those brown seats that you may have used to have. The dining is absolutely beautiful inside with very high end seating. If you are familiar with the RH cloud couches, some of their seating even looks like that. My family and I actually sat outside, but it was lovely. They had white linen cloths draping over the tables with beautiful Easter arrangements in the middle. A serenade during the whole event took place and the waiters worked so hard. I have a gluten intolerance so they had to accomodate an off menu item but it was literally the best burger I have ever eaten. No joke. All the kids slopped up their meals which some times can be hard to get done as they can be picky. I think the only plate that had anything left on it was my dad as he was having an emergency. All around what a great experience. There were fun crafts and games for the kids in back with face painting and the courtyard it took place in was so cool. A big fireplace lit with seats around it and a large screen tv to watch. I commend the super sweet women who put this event on. I wish I got her name, but she did an amazing job. I really can't say enough. This was for Easter and my Dad's birthday so we had many things to celebrate and so glad we did it herw! We all agreed that we will definitely be back to enjoy the ambiance and food again....

So dissaponted that we didn't have a better experience - we were looking forward to our free breakfast as new Hyatt Globalist members. We ere greeted kindly and gracefully by a young man. Our initial serve exhibited all the qualities of a happy person. Our second server was nice too. But you could tell he was over worked - not his fault. Food took forever to arrive and you could tell other families around us exhibited the same frustration. Kids and parents were getting really hangry. Food finally came and it was cold...sigh. My steak and eggs was undercooked and chewy. Bread was hard cold. Huevos Rancheros were okay. Oh, and we never got a second serving coffee. Our server never returned. A newlywed couple returned their cold eggs. I'm sure it's a good restaurant - we just probably caught it on a really bad day - who knows. Hadn't not been free, I probably would have been very upset and this review less forgiving. I just felt bad for all those families with starving children,...

Don't think I will be back. Play off to be a fancy restaurant and the high prices to go with it but no. I sat outside on the patio because I was cold with a nice view of valet and the smell of diesel from a truck parked there for a while. I got fish tacos for $17. Well I think they were fish tacos. More like cabbage tacos with a bit of fish. The cole slaw was cabbage with mayonnaise, cilantro and black pepper and didn't taste like cole slaw at all. The fish wasn't bad by itself but when you put the bland corn tortilla, that cole slaw pile and the little bit of fish together you get the worst fish tacos I've ever had. The chips and salsa was ok..had better salsa. The waiter didn't seem to understand or speak English very well so I wasn't always sure what was being said. He was kind but didn't come around much and I had to find him to pay because I didn't want to...
