I recently found myself needing to replace most of the major appliances in my kitchen. I did not want to go to a Big Box store so asked around for recommendations. A friend of mine had just had her kitchen redone and she recommended Bob Gladstone at D and K Appliances. I called him and told him what I was thinking about and measured the space in my kitchen. He quickly sent me an email suggesting products in each category. I was very happy with the choices he suggested and also impressed that he sent me mid-range prices. I went into the store and ordered three of the products he recommended. I had done some independent research and found a double oven that opens to the left rather than the conventional pulldown doors. I struggle getting casseroles in my current oven and can’t wait to get my new GE double oven.
Selling the product was just the first part. Within a week I had a new refrigerator and microwave installed. Kevin was the installer for the microwave and he was wonderful. My current cooktop has a downdraft and I talked with Bob about getting a cooktop that didn’t have a downdraft. Kevin came out and measured and told me that my current cooktop is bigger than the cooktop I ordered at the store. He spent a great deal of time talking to me about options. I was on the phone with Bob and there is a KitchenAid that had the downdraft but it was $1000 more than the GE that I ordered. He also said there was no projection for a delivery date for the KitchenAid. He said you had ordered one in December and didn’t have it and didn’t even have a projected delivery date. Keven told me he could make the GE cooktop I ordered work but the labor and material would be nearly $1000. I thought about it for awhile and decided to go with the GE because I should be able to get it in April or May and Kevin can do a retrofit to make the GE work. He was fantastic!
The same day I got the microwave installed I got a new refrigerator. The installers were Ira and Sydney and they were equally impressive! They brought the new refrigerator in and worked about where Kevin was doing the microwave. I had not moved my old refrigerator out for 20 years (the length of time I have lived in my house). You cannot believe the mess that was under there! I was trying to get it cleaned but there was debris stuck to the floor. One of the installers asked if I had a spatula and he tediously worked to remove the mess. The refrigerator was installed and operational in less than an hour!
I want to commend all four of these gentlemen. The installers work for D and K Appliances and are not contracted out to another company and they met the high standards to...

I contacted D&K on 9-10-19, due to a major issue a ran into with another appliance store and my dealings with the owner and the order I placed. I called D&K on 9-10-19, the night my dishwasher was suppose to be delivered (long story) and spoke with Adam DeJesus who is INCREDIBLE and explained my situation to him. Within minutes, Adam was able to place my order for the same dishwasher and was able to come in lower with the pricing! Needless to say, I was beyond elated! He was empathetic to what I experienced and rushed my installation to 9-13-19. I couldn’t believe it was this easy dealing with them and not receiving any type of runaround. I immediately called the other company and canceled my order and demanded a FULL REFUND and advised them I will never do business with them again!
From talking with Adam, I was sold on making D&K my go to appliance store. He’s got a terrific sense of humor, is very KNOWLEDGABLE, and EXTREMELY professional and truly understands what the line means....the customer always comes first! Thanks Adam. Looking forward to doing business again with you.
I received a call from Matt on 9-12-19 with my delivery time. He was extremely professional and courteous! As soon as my window came, Kevin came. It was awesome since I didn’t want to wait around all day. Kevin is another EXTREMELY courteous and professional employee and holds a world of knowledge when it comes to appliances. He was very meticulous with the removal of my old dishwasher and the install of the new one. You don’t have to worry about floors, carpets, or anything getting damaged, Kevin brings a million heavy duty tarps with him. After install, he reviewed the operation of the dishwasher with me and gave me some very helpful tips! Thanks Kevin for an OUTSTANDING job!
I had to call D&K to advise them that one of the tarps was left behind, even though I wanted to keep it:). I spoke with Karen, who is one of the owners, and basically told her how impressed I am with all of the employees and the service I received. She too has an INCREDIBLE personality and couldn’t thank me enough for the call.
I write all this to assist you in your appliance shopping. Look no further than D&K! Their pricing is VERY REASONABLE,, the employees are PHENOMENAL, the service is TOP-NOTCH, AND THEY TRULY KNOW HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER, ...

I specifically went to D&K appliances to work with a local appliance store who services their sales, and to support a local business vs a big box store.
Within 10 months of our purchase, the washer/dryer we purchased started shaking so violently it sounded like it was going to crash through our floor. The quote from the GE service men each time “wow, I’ve never heard anything like that.” It sounds like a freight train running through my house. At that point they “fixed” the issue by replacing the shocks and giving me a lesson on how to do laundry (only do half loads every time!!)
The same issue has happened over and over since. The machine has been serviced 8x in less than 2 years. 5x by D&K and 3x by GE.
It’s now been 1 year and 11 months. We have a 4yr extended warranty that D&K sold to us. We are being told by GE that the entire machine needs to be rebuilt and you may as well get a replacement, being told by D&K that there’s nothing that they can do, and being told by the warranty company to call D&K to service the machine. (Head spinning!)
It’s been 3+ weeks of back and forth and getting nowhere between all 3 parties. Not one person will take ownership of the issue and I’m running in circles with a 1yr old and 3yr old and no washer/dryer.
As a small business owner myself, sometimes you need to do the right thing by your client and take a loss to make it right. D&K refuses to do this and just passes the blame elsewhere.
Do yourself a favor… and go to the big box...
