Update 2/14/23 Walking up to the main entrance of the casino was worse than before. Cigarettes are all over, things need painted and everything could do well with a good powerwashing. Nothing about this 1st glance gives me "destination resort" vibes. We arrived around 8:30 in the morning so it was obvious this littered mess was not fresh. If this place wants to pull in new customers and become a major moneymaker, things need to change. When your facility is much less clean than the local gas stations, you have an issue. Granted, the inside is clean, but the outside is what sets the tone. Do better, Mardi Gras! Original review: We have stayed here numerous times through the years. This last visit was already a letdown due to no pool and none of the amazing breakfast foods. The room was not the cleanest and the gold fixtures are now chrome and gold due to someone using the incorrect cleaner. All of the restaurants in the casino were closed and there was no room service. My suggestions to help would be: Breakfast: Since the old buffet style won't work, the easiest way to serve the delicious hot breakfast would be for each room to put an order in either online or by calling concierge. Their items would be prepared and could be dropped off contactless outside of the room or could be picked up in the lobby. Cleaning: Supervisor checking rooms to make sure they are bring cleaned properly. They should also be sure to teach proper use of cleaning agents and which products to use on each surface. Restaurants: If none of the on site eateries are going to be open, either offer meals via room service again or at least put together a listing of nearby restaurants and contact information. Maybe even see if any would be willing to give hotel guests a discount. I know some of these items seem small but if you want to call yourself a resort and be a destination vacation spot, you can't overlook the little things.

Mardi Gras Casino is one of my husband’s favorite hangouts, and it’s become a regular stop for us when traveling between North Carolina and Michigan. We recently visited on a weekday and, judging by our pictures, we hit a few jackpots! What I love most about Mardi Gras Casino is the welcoming, homelike atmosphere and the fun giveaways. My husband especially enjoys the generous food credits and free night offers, which make our stays even more enjoyable. The casino is a convenient halfway point for our travels, so we’ve visited quite often. The casino floor is lively and well-maintained, with a great mix of slot machines and table games to keep things exciting. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to help or offer a smile. While the casino does close from 4am to 7am, there’s plenty of action during open hours, and the environment feels safe and inviting. The hotel is a pleasant surprise, offering a light breakfast and beautiful views of the surrounding scenery. On our last visit, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of the new suites on the first floor ! The room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. Dining options are good, with the on-site restaurant open until midnight on weekdays and 2am on weekends. For late-night cravings, many guests use Uber Eats, which is super convenient. Overall, Mardi Gras Casino is a fantastic stop for both relaxation and excitement. Whether you’re there for the games, the food, or just a comfortable place to unwind, you’ll find it all here. Highly recommended for anyone passing through or looking for a fun getaway!

We stayed one night in this hotel and would not stay here again. The room was very dirty, looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. We arrived around 5pm on a Monday April 1st, 2024. After checking in went to Casino to find a restaurant, only thing open was a cafe. The food was nothing special. After spending a few hours in casino we went up to room. My husband went to bed & fell right asleep after a long day of driving. I watched some TV then went to get into bed. Found a bug on the inside of the cover of the bed with several other spots of something. I got out of bed tried to wake husband. I ended setting in chair all night waiting for morning. The tiles in the bathroom were dirty, especially the ones under the sink counter, looked like they had not been cleaned in awhile. The Valance Curtains was covered in dust. When the air conditioner ran you could see dust balls coming from it. The bathtub was dirty. The furniture was stained. I took pictures & showed them to desk clerk in the morning, his response was why didn’t you come down & ask for another room. I explained my husband was exhausted and it was late so I set in the chair til morning. He looked at pictures he thought bug was maybe a stink bug, he said they had problems with them getting inside hotel. He said he would let housekeeper know about the bathroom floor & curtains. Nothing was offered as far as discount on my bill. I did sent email later after our return home, got an auto response that someone would contact me but never received a call.

I didn't stay at the resort, but met up with MW for the Prime Rib dinner for two at their French Quarter restaurant inside of the casino. Also, I didn't really take many pictures this time around. Will double-check with management if I can take some pictures of the restaurant itself. It really has a great atmosphere and I think very good to invite clients for an evening business meal. Ms. Rebecca, hostess of the evening, was quite busy because of the Wednesday special: Prime Rib Dinner for Two for $60! They did have seating available, but I think I will make a reservation next time - just in case. She was able to seat me at a booth to wait on MW. Also, Ms. Rebecca poured me water and brought bread and butter while I was waiting. Ms. Emily was our server for the evening. She was exceptional all evening long. A gorgeous smile was awesome to see! We did go for the special. The special included a beautiful vibrant side salad, prime rib, baked potato and green beans with a cheesecake dessert to share. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was delicious! What we call "Butter weich" in German. Butter soft, it just melted in your mouth! Don't let the picture fool you, the steak was folded!!! Oh, that steak! I can definitely recommend it here!!! Mouth-watering!!! Since it was so much, I took half of it home! And it was awesome the next day!!! 👏 So, if you really want to treat yourself and/or a friend to a fabulous steak, this is the place to come! 😁

Great place to have dinner or meet up with friends! A few restaurants inside and bar areas. Close to interstate. Has its very own hotel on premise and nite life in weekends. Had to share this gem parked in the lot! Classic! Go spend some money & watch the greyhounds!
