Unprofessional and Disorganized – A Frustrating Experience with Tidewater Appliances
I was not given the option to choose Tidewater Appliances, as they were contracted through my building management. However, based on my experience, I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Over the past month, we have dealt with repeated delays, inconsistent information, and unprofessional behavior—all over what should have been a routine dishwasher repair. • The first technician, Russel, came out but could not fix the issue. • A week later, two different technicians arrived smelling of marijuana and alcohol. They gave a completely different diagnosis and had no idea a technician had already visited our unit. This was a clear indication of poor internal communication. • The following week, Russel returned and stated that the second team’s diagnosis was incorrect. • We were then told we would be receiving a new dishwasher. When the installation team finally arrived, they shut off our hot water and power, removed the old unit—only to discover the replacement unit was damaged.
The damaged unit should have been inspected long before it was delivered. Due to the delay in notifying Lowe’s, the return is now being denied—something that could have easily been avoided with even minimal professionalism.
We rearranged our schedules multiple times to accommodate repeated visits, only to be met with excuses and no resolution. When we expressed our concerns through our apartment’s resident portal, the company became defensive rather than taking accountability.
It’s hard not to feel like this situation was unnecessarily drawn out so the company could bill for multiple service calls, rather than resolving the issue efficiently. Their approach appears more focused on squeezing money out of each visit than on providing quality service or customer satisfaction.
We have since asked our building manager to assign a different company to complete the job.

Technician came to the house for 5 minutes, did not but barely inspect the dishwater& then voice noted into his phone, in front of me- that the dishwasher needed replaced, and then a day later got a call from the landlord stating they were ordering parts and it would take an additional 10 business days to do so. Owner wanted to explore a cheaper option first(which is understandable) but the technician (was probably forced by management) to change his opinion to suit the owners needs. Which is neither here nor there. My problem was that they proceeded to tell me they ordered parts. But when asked what parts were ordered because no true or valid inspection was performed on the appliance- I was met with rudeness from Bree. This is a completely valid question. How do you know what parts need ordered if there was no diagnostic inspection performed? Are you not taking advantage of the home owner who wasn’t present for the inspection? Yes. They are.. They Had some difficulties getting it fixed because of some staff issues I rather not get into.
It took some back and forth with me calling and them either not having the part or not having someone available.
However, I am giving them 5 stars because they stuck it out and worked with me, called back when I left messages. That was important to me, if you can’t do it, at least communicate with me with what’s the next step, and they did that.
They showed resiliency through challenges and that to me showed character in a company and the culture they run it with.
At the end of the day, they fixed my dryer, works better than before.
In addition to all of that, pricing was more than fair, I recommend them!
This is my go to place from now on for home appliances.
