Flabbergasted!!!
2015 I became intolerant to Gluten. If consumed, I would become a sort of "Elephant Man". Woman in this case. It has been quite a ride since. Always longing to enjoy Pizza, Sandwiches, Empanadas, Doughnuts, and so forth. Limited establishments offer Gluten-free food. Those who do, enjoying the food is out of the question. Bread crumbles into tiny pieces, when you grab it. Once in your mouth, is like eating sand mixed with cardboard.
I was visiting my daughter, in North Carolina, and were cleaning Ocean View beach through her job in Virginia. She looked in the internet for a restaurant that would serve Gluten-free food. To our Surprise, Fuddruckers was first on the list. Skeptical, she asked the internet, "Does Fuddruckers sell Gluten-free food?" A big Yes came up. I said "Let's go there." We were not far. In about 5 min, we were there. Nice atmosphere. I go to the counter and was greeted with a smile, and was asked what would I like to order. Of course, I had to ask about Gluten-free. She assured me the bun is Gluten-free. I ordered my first burger in years. When I bit into the delicious burger, I experienced an old feeling of normal eating. Yes, weird. I stopped eating, and went to the counter. I asked "Was I given a Gluten-free bun?" She said, "Yes". Then she proceeded to walk back to my table, and looked at my bun, and reassured me it is Gluten-free. (No sèeds on bun) She asked me "What's wrong?" I looked at her Flabbergasted and proceeded to inform her of my Gluten-free experience, and that this bread did not taste Gluten-free. It did not crumble to tiny pieces, it had a great taste, and it was not sandy/cardboard.
She was happy I was enjoying my meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the great 1/2lb burger with wonderful fries, and all the free fixings. LOVED IT!!! This experience was at Fuddruckers in Norfolk, Virginia. I am from Florida. We need a Fuddruckers in Green Cove Springs please, thank you.
Thank you...
Read moreDear Diary. Today was my last day at the beach. On the way out I thought it would be fun to see the ships and hit up one more place I cant get at home. So we drove to the local Fuddruckers. It was the smallest I have ever seen. It was very clean from the outside and on the inside. It was very welcoming and inviting from the look. We ordered our food. We both had burgers, I had onion rings and my wife had fries. They had a blinker thing that was give while I picked out a seat and grabbed drinks from one of those big coke machines that seems like it has a 100 drink picks or more. It took about 15 for our food. It came out hot and the onion rings were amazing. I wish they had come with a couple more. There was only about ten but they were big and fresh. We went to the fix it yourself bar where you put on you burger the items you like and the nacho cheese flows like vine in Italy. While we were eating my wife noticed that my bun was darker than hers and asked why. I told her mine was cook all the way and didn’t had mold like hers. I just noticed that after she ate half her burger there was a green patch on it. She made a funny yuck I just ate half that face as she got up to take it to the counter. She spoke with the manager who explained they make their buns fresh everyday. And that some didn’t change the paper on the pan after the cooked the cookies with M n Ms. after looking closely you could see the M on the bun. The manager insisted on making her a brand new burger and more fries. She was very nice came to the table and apologize again for a lazy employee. It happens I really understand. You can’t make sure everything is right but how you handle it is important. I feel its a little expensive for a burger joint but it’s fun and a nice change on vacation. P.S. Thanks for the fun week Virginia Beach...
Read moreMy experience today was fantastic. The meal I ordered was a little bit different so I took a minute to ramble through it. The lady at the front was very patient with me. She didn't give me any exasperated sighs, or agressive stare downs or bored leans, she lended me her full attention and waited patiently for me to finish, I'm not very well of hearing so I had to ask her to repeat several times, she didn't get aggravated with me. That kind of response was well appreciated. I picked a booth in the back corner, and our server Frederick (I hope I heard his name right) came out to introduce himself. He was very charismatic and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and kept the dining area super clean, I needed plastic ware for my bunless burger and Frederick brought out the good kind, the thicker plastic that actually cuts through my food and picks it up without breaking or bending. He was super attentive to us and I just really appreciated his response to us. It was like talking with a real person who was actually interested in anything we asked or needed rather than the usual robotic and short responses you'll receive from staff at other restaurants. I wish I had brought more cash on me to leave an extra extra tip because the staff certainly deserve it, especially Frederick. Im definitely going back, I hope he's there again so I can give him that extra tip he deserves for putting so much care into his job. It was a great...
