I would say this is the strangest experience with handymen/ appliance repair people I ever had. It feels like these guys are so on the edge when they come to do their work that they start to through a tantrum at you right from the doorstep. So, I tried to fix gas stove that leaks gas. The condo was for sale, and I had to do it pretty quick. The first guy came to diagnose the problem for $130. So, he said that stove is leaking gas and needs to be repaired, but they need the parts and will come back in 2 weeks(!!!). The other guy ( the owner) came in 2 weeks and parked at my neighbor’s numbered parking spot. I told him that parking spot is private and if somebody calls the office his car might be towed away. Seems like he took it as a personal offense and wanted to leave. I told him that it is not my business, and he can park the way he wants... So, he looked at my gas stove and started to slide it on my new hardwood floor. I asked him to put something under (that was my mistake). He dropped his stuff and shouted that this is the second time I am giving him a hard time (the first time, I assume, it was with the parking) and that now he is leaving for sure. It took me about 10 minutes to calm him down and finish his work. He said he would do it, but I would better stop talking. I would never tolerate this attitude, but I was short on time and could not search for another specialist. So, I let him finish. Then I cleaned up and polish the floor a bit. Wow, what a service. If you hire these guys don’t forget you need a babysitter with you to calm them down. Also try not to talk – just write them a check and don’t even look at them. They may think you try to...
Read moreOur washing machine lid broke so my wife called A & M for them to come out and fix it. We bought this machine from A & M to begin with. But being a busy family and trying to figure schedules is a pain. When she called she was told they will order the part and they would come out to fix it. My wife tried to coordinate a time for them to come out and called the store a few times because there was no answer. When she finally talked to someone, she was told that they never said they would order the part and that they basically told her they weren't going to service us because she called too many times and e-mailed them. She only e-mailed them because she was told to e-mail a picture of the part that was broken. If you run a business, you should try to answer the phone or return the call. I get it, maybe they had a customer to help and couldn't get to the phone. But to say that you called too many times is crazy! With everything going on today, there is no reason to talk to anyone like that. They should be thankful my wife called a few times. Most people would've moved on and called another business, but she wanted to give them the business. Not anymore after the way they treated her so rudely. They've been in business a long time, maybe they think they can treat people like this because they'll still get business. But if you are looking for service or to buy a new appliance, I'd go to...
Read moreWorst repair experience of my life! I have a two year old Frigidaire gallery that stopped making ice. I called this repair service and a gentleman came out and seemed, as time went on, very confused about a solution. He took some things apart and spent time with the factory. He told me they told him it needed a fan housing of some type. They called to say he would be back out and I assumed with the new part. He spent quite a bit of time running water and told me the factory was wrong it had ice build up which he resolved. It takes time to make ice so I gave it overnight and still no ice! My husband called him back because at this point I had paid 225$ and now the instrument panel was not working. We called Frigidaire who just left and told me it was a loose wire connection. I called A and M told the lady who answered that the man that came out seemed to struggle and I wanted some form of compensation since he was paid for NOT repairing my refrigerator. Have not heard one word. This is a cautionary tale. Have since found out he...
