I have purchased two SpinBase units and two SpinDeck Max units plus a SpinSub and the SpinStand. I have been totally pleased with Andover products. They are phenomenal products. Recently I preordered the new SpinBase Max unit which was supposed to be shipping around November 15, 2022. I have heard nothing from the company about a status of the unit. Like other reviewers there is no way to talk with them. My emails have not been responded to and a text has not been responded to. The only thing I was asking is if the unit is ready to ship or has it been delayed. I can't get a response from them. In the past I always got responses to my questions in a timely fashion. Rich was fantastic and Christy responded too. But for some reason the status of the SpinBase Max shipping is going unanswered and it is very frustrating. If it is delayed that is fine but please respond to my inquiries. I must say also that not being able to speak with someone is extremely frustrating. I usually buy my units through other outlets such as Crutchfield but in this instance you can only get it through Andover because it is new I suppose. I have mostly paid for the unit and I want to be assured it is coming in a timely fashion. The 3 star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the products, it is focused on their declining customer service.
Update: I have sent a brand new email to Andover again to Christie or whoever reads it to see if they respond to my inquiry. When or if they do I will update my review. I am so frustrated with this company solely on the fact that they have stopped responding to emails, texts and you would have a better chance of talking to the president than this company. When you call it goes straight to voicemail which informs you the mailbox is full. I don't think I am being unreasonable asking the status of shipment on my order. I am dropping my rating to two stars solely on customer service. The products they sell are very good.
SECOND UPDATE: I received a response from Andover and was informed there are delays with the unit. This was all I needed to know (the status). I am now happy and will wait for the unit. I have to tell you the SpinBase is phenomenal. I can't wait to listen to the SpinBase Max. If they continue to communicate properly I will raise to a 5 star. Their products are 5 star.
THIRD UPDATE Communication with Andover has been re-established. It was explained that they are experiencing production and shipping delays from their supplier and that they are working hard to get the units. Unfortunately this is beyond Andover's control so I can't fault them for that. I explained to them that good or bad news is better than no news, at least for me. Read moreI came across Andover Audio when I was looking to replace my current system and after doing some research and looking at all of the positive reviews, I decided to purchase the Spinbase Speaker System along with the Spinbase turntable in white. I placed my order and had to wait a few days as they did not have any in stock at the time but they were very communicative when they will. When I did received my order, it was very simple to setup and pulled out an album in my vinyl library to test the sound. I am extremely amazed of the quality of sound this system has. I have always been a customer who like to purchase items that functions with a sleek design element. I was extremely satisfied with my purchase. The only 2 cons that I have is that I wish the belt drive was placed under the turntable as it sometimes pulls out when picking up a record and does not have the ability to listen using my wireless Bluetooth headphones. I bought a new Spin Base for Christmas and this has been my experience: The shipping was not super slow, but the tracking was never updated, to the point that it never said it was even shipped. It just showed up like 3 weeks after I ordered. The screws on the bottom of the spin base were not fully tightened into the rubber legs and they scratched the living life out of the top of my beautiful midcentury sideboard while I was setting things up. Support gave me a $30 store credit for compensation which is almost comical. The volume control is VERY finicky at low volume. I’m not sure if this is a systemic problem, but it goes from ZERO volume to too loud to sit near and talk, and there is no in-between. Now I’m just being petty and I don’t really care about this, but since I keep getting emailed to leave a review: the machining on the perforated casing is not great.
