A beautiful community park, that is a must stop and enjoy with family, friends, and well behaved dogs. This non- profit park that relies on cash donations, which we were happy to leave at entry or exit, voluntary cash drop box. BEAUTIFUL and very peaceful at this park, totally paved walking trails, unusual awesome statues, arts, trees, restrooms, vending. We ENJOYED a leisure visit that laster well over two hours. Read moreThis is a beautiful park surrounded by Appalachian mountain beauty and bordered by the upper Watauga River. Recreation area for children, outdoor basketball courts, and soccer goals for pick up games. Plenty of room for frisbee, throwing a football, and a wiffle game if one chose. Grass area is huge. Great walking/running track around park (dogs on leash are allowed) and a grass/meadow trail also. Read moreOur family simply LOVES this little town and the community park is a big reason! It's been amazing to see the park grow over the years. It is so well supported and kept, every time we visit there is something new they've added to the park or the landscaping. The paved trail is wonderful for running or casually walking. The Watauga river access is perfect for kids, fishing, or for bringing the dog down for a drink. My son caught his first trout here :) On our last visit we brought a picnic for the evening music in the park. There were food trucks and the community rallied for a wonderful summer evening.
