Valle Tavern at Mast Farm Inn — Restaurant in Boone

June 26, my birthday. A solo and sad birthday for me. I see this place on my way to Over Yonder and think how happy I am for it. I go to O Y and it’s packed, so I go back here. I’m excited for the cool place, I seated myself and asked the folks if I had to order or a waitperson. They said a waitress will come to me. So I waited, she took the people’s order in front of me, a party of 5, 2 parties of 2 and she finally came over and told me that I could order at the bar. I said that it was hard because I had my dog. She said “ok, I will be back after I take care of these people”. I should have left then- it was an hour. She finally shows up after taking more orders and gets mine- is rude about my Frenchie. I should have left, but it’s a cool place and I had just ordered (finally). I see food coming out for people that ordered after me. She finally brings my tea. I wait, and wait, then decided that after 2 hours of no food, the worst service ever that I would leave. I wish I was exaggerating! My heart is broken over a recent loss and I am taking time to heal. It was my Birthday and I was looking for a nice place with nice people. This was an unfortunate experience. The place is very nice but as a former server, restaurant manager and trainer- the volume of the 8-10 tables was not that busy to be completely ignored. If you are in the Valle Crucis area you need to go here. Great little spot for kids to play and run around. Good beer and a little store with drinks and snacks that are not expensive. Live music, two horses that are friendly, and super cute and friendly goats. We make a stop here daily when staying in Valle Crucis or Blowing Rock. And of course...

Gabe, tending bar was great! Beer was very good. Delivery of food horrible. Over 25 minutes to get 2 pizzas AND a party of 5 adults and 5 children who arrived almost 10 minutes after us received their food 1st! Sadly we will no be back.
