I was there only for a a visit with a friend I haven’t seen in a long long time. She was there due to The carnival for Nebraska-land Days this past June. Anyway, my review would be if the space available for owner operators of amusement type gatherings. The area is well secured by the NP PD and LCSO. So security of asset is great. The property is well taken care of. The ground is not marshy it’s solid and stable even in heavy rain events and such. I hope to soon enough be able to give a review on the...

A well preserved period mansion that was the home of Buffalo Bill and his family. His Wild West show originated on this ranch and the barn is larger than the house. The home could benefit from additional contextual and significance signage in the room displays. The nearby outbuildings of the spring house and cob house are exemplars. The upstairs has excellent depictions of the tragic circumstances of Bill's children's lives and those of some of his more famous Wild West...

For a one night camping stop it was okay. The grass was overgrown, weeds were tall, online map is completely wrong for 50 amps. I don't know why people like this tiny campground. Went to take the dogs out for a walk and the local Leo's were outside running all the plates. Well, if you have nothing better to do. As we go to leave the next morning a horse trailer was blocking the drive. Even after honking the group of people didn't move it. Seriously? North Platte...

Enjoyed our time camped at this beautiful state park. Has a small beach. Petting zoo is adjacent to the park. They have 30 and 50 amp, water spigots not very convenient and no dump station. Our site #2 was great. It was leveled, gravel driveway, spacious, fire pit, grill and table. No shade. Evenings were delightful. OTA was good, Verizon and Sprint worked well. Great history and museums. Shopping and restaurants nearby.

There is a fee for admission ($35 and up for a day pass as I recall), which is higher for out of state visitors, so I basically drove through the parking lot and moved along. The rodeo arena next door however, had an event going on with free entry, so opted for that. I would have liked to have learned more about Buffalo Bill. Perhaps some historical marker signage closer to the road.

This state park has some great history about Buffalo Bill Cody and his family, but also about his Wild West Show. There are several historical artifacts and great snippets of information about the family history, life at the time, and the Wild West Show. The buildings and grounds are well-kept. There are even two live buffalo (bison) on the ranch!
