They only open beginner, mini and vet tracks any more. East Track (advanced) never opened all year. West Track (advanced) has only opened once in the past month. Fees are only $15, prices should be increased if that's what's required to open all tracks and alleviate the frustration and danger of cramming everyone onto the same track. I would be willing to pay $25 or $30 if that's what's needed to open the advanced tracks.
Last year in 2016, the advanced tracks were opened four times per week, this year (in 2017) operations and availability, especially for something other than beginner tracks have gone down hill dramatically.
The result is a dangerous mix of frustrated riders trying to negotiate riders of all levels on the same small vet and beginner tracks. Jordan OHV really needs to increase prices to overcome these problems.
Update to my Post (early 2018) I bumped up my rating since last year. Starting this year in 2018 they increased prices from $15 to $20 per rider (a good step). Price increases require approval from the Utah legislature so they are difficult to pass, but the good news is that the price increase seems to have really helped, they are now opening the advanced tracks and the whole facility is in much better condition. The staff there really seems good and capable, I just think they've been understaffed in the past and also overrun by riders as a result of the almost free cost. I hope the staff got a pay raise with the price increase so they can keep their people through the summer. The increase to $20 is a good step forward but I still believe the advanced east and west tracks should be either $25 or $30 and require a wrist band to ride on those tracks. Now I'm hoping they have the budget and staff in place to reliably open one or two weekdays like they did a couple of years ago.
Update to Post (Sept 2018) Back to never opening advanced tracks, they haven't opened in months. West track hasn't opened all year. The result again is a whole lot of frustrated riders crammed on the Vet track. Lowering my rating back down a notch or two. If things could get back to operating the way they did in 2016, it would be a five...
Read moreJordan River OHV Park has always been a blast to ride. Previously it was managed poorly, but atleast had a clean advanced track. Now under the new management and state funding, as well as good local support from the community the track is better than ever. The hours are limited to weekends on one weeknight, but if you are able to make it you can rest assured that the morning of ride day the track is well groomed and professionally taken care of.
The track options are what really make this the best place for families and riders of all skill levels who want to ride on a motocross track instead of the open desert or trails. There is a beginner track that is hard packed with no ruts. Not really maintained, but it’s perfect for beginners who need simple obstacles and don’t want to worry about riding ruts.
The intermediate track is a blast with a simple layout, but varying degrees of jumps. From short doubles to larger tables, and even some split lane corners. Easy enough for the novice, but big enough for the comfortable amateur to really test his skills and get some big air.
The advanced tracks (east and west) are awesome, but they’re just that. ADVANCED. The guys riding these tracks are not slowing down for anybody. If you don’t have the skill to maneuver all of the obstacles on this track, stick to the intermediate track. You don’t want to get landed on or accidentally taken out on a blind jump or blind corner that you’ll find on these tracks. Highly skilled amateur riders will love these. Off camber doubles, huge doubles and tables, some more split lanes and some tricky switchback S turns will keep you entertained all summer. They usually rotate between prepping the east and west tracks, I have yet to see them open at the same time.
Amenities are not much to enjoy, but there is a small playground for kids and some picnic tables. No on-site food available, you’re on your own for everything besides track maintenance. Overall a great place to ride. Only downside is the limited schedule and it can get pretty crowded on weekends, so get...
Read moreIt’s a fun place to moto when it’s not packed. Some problems of course. One being that they rarely have more than one track open. It’s usually just the vet track open. Probably because it’s the easiest to water. Though they have 4 different tracks. I know how hard it is to keep tracks running smoothly. However they would greatly benefit from keeping the east or west track open alongside with the vet track. You get to many riders out there of different skills and it gets dangerous. Some days they only have the beginner track open and still charge $20 a day per rider. That would be nice if they change that. Because the beginner track is nothing special. I don’t think it’s worth $20. Being that this is a state park and how many riders a year it pulls I feel it needs some more attention to these issues. However, there is limited tracks in Utah. So that being said. You will still enjoy riding here and the dirt they have is top notch. Unless you are a true beginner I wouldn’t pay to ride unless the vet, east, or west track are open for the day. Despite the problems I go here as often as I am able. Just wanted to voice...
