We adopted a 100 lb Great Pyrenees puppy who loved to jump, play, and swing his hips wildly in joy! So much that it became unsafe to be around my young kids, or any other acquaintances. With his size and power he could literally jump on your head or scratch your face! We were unable to control his outbursts and desperately needed help. I’d like to think that I was capable of training him properly, but I am not a professional. Bruce & Jenn at Shore K-9 proved that they are true professionals by understanding our particular situation and diligently working toward a resolution.
I stopped in their shop to get their thoughts on how to help. My inclination was to try it out and see how Dasher (our dog) took to their wisdom. Maybe give him a session or two and see what happens. That’s not how it works. Sometimes we need to leave it in the hands of a professional. Bruce and Jenn were clear that training is a process and takes time to develop, learn, and unlearn certain behaviors. Once or twice just isn’t feasible to achieve real results. They created a plan and we enrolled for an 8-10 week session…..I could not be any happier. They stood by what they said and at the end of our time Dasher became a well behaved young pup! He no longer jumped at people, or barked relentlessly (as the breed has been known to do). I could bring him to the ball fields where he became a fan favorite. He could socialize with other dogs and young children without me being concerned. Dasher clearly enjoyed going to school and meeting friends because every time we go near my work truck (his school bus) he gets excited! Just like when we pulled up to the Shore K-9 shop, he couldn’t wait to enter. I have to thank Bruce & Jenn profusely because their help relieved the anxiety and stress that (untrained) Dasher was causing in our household. Their hard work, professionalism, and dedication to results brought back the joy and love that we crave when owning a pet. If any of this sounds familiar, I’d implore you to stop by and talk with them. They are down to earth real people with the wisdom and knowledge to help achieve the desired results which ultimately leads to a happier life.
Thanks yall! Keep up the great work. We’ll be back to...
Read moreMy wife and I have a border collie/Blue Heeler and he has anxiety problems. We tried having home trainer and also medication through the vet but medication was just making him worse and avoiding the root problem. I found Jenn & Bruce’s Shore K9 and did an evaluation with them. 10 weeks give or take later our dog is as good as new. Not only did my dog drastically get better but he was looking forward to going on his Tuesday/Thursdays which we never thought he would!
Sonny is my dogs name, and he became part of the Shore K9 family and he was cared for very well. He spent his birthday, Easter and a few other fun times there through his 10 weeks.
After the initial visit Jenn and Bruce laid out a training guide for us to follow at home which was explained to us on the 2nd week of training. It has drastically changed the quality of our lives as well as our anxious puppy!
We have nothing but good things to say, I would and do consistently recommend people to come here. Just meet with them… You will 100% be able to tell the difference from...
Read moreI can't recommend Bruce and Jen at Shore K9 enough! I found them from the dozen or so people on the Northfield Bike Path who used them for day care and training so for my 6 month old Labrador Banks, I set up a meeting to look into training. I was very happy that training included day care which allowed me to have two days a week to myself for meetings and errands while Banks was in school.
Every day when we arrived his tail was wagging and he was rushing to get in to see all the other dogs so I know he loved it too and that might be the biggest endorsement you can give a dog trainer.
Banks just graduated after 9 weeks and he is a whole different dog. He is still a puppy which we want him to be but the benefit is he knows how to act so we can take him around friends, our nephews and nieces, and out to social gatherings and he's well behaved.
We have recommended some of our friends to visit Shore K9 and they have all trusted their dogs to Bruce and Jen and they rave...
