BUYER BEWARE - I was a customer of Betschman’s since my father died in 2015. This incident happened last Father’s Day. Since it’s that time of year again, I felt compelled to warn any “out of state buyers” of what happened to my last order with this florist.
Betschman’s came highly recommended by Walker funeral home in Norwalk. They provided many of the arrangements at my father’s funeral, as well as the arrangements for the local church. I was glad to find a florist who would deliver to the gravesite, since I live out of state.
I had flowers delivered to his grave on his birthday, Fathers Day & his Angel Day (the date of his death). I always spoke with Sharon or Heather.
I never had a problem until last Father’s Day. My father liked bright, bold colors, and that is what I requested when I made my order.
On Father’s Day I received a text from my sister.
She commented that the arrangement was “pretty”, but questioned my Choice of season??? I asked her to text me a photo and couldn’t believe what Betschman’s had placed on my fathers grave. A FALL SWAG - Fall Colors WITH WHEAT AND TO TOP IT OFF - IT HAD GLITTERED PUMPKINS!!! Hello y’all - it’s JUNE - It’s Father’s Day! SUMMER!!!
I called Monday, spoke with Heather, and Sharon called me back. She said, “I’m sorry you’re upset, but you did say bright colors.” Again, HELLO, I asked “did you SEE the arrangement? You sent a FALL arrangement to my fathers grave for Fathers Day, in June!” She said she didn’t know what they could do, I said you can replace it free of charge.
They replaced it, a few days later, and it was an “ok” arrangement. My sister arrived just in time to pick up the leaves that had blown out. It was not put together well, and had to be taken down a short period later.
In the past Betschman’s had made grapevine arrangements, I am not sure why they made the change, it wasn’t at my request.
They never offered any other type of discount, nor apologize for the shoddy work.
It’s OBVIOUS, I was out of state, they thought I would never know what they placed on my fathers grave. Also, I believe I got left overs from the previous year.
I also contacted Walker Funeral Home (after all, they did recommend them) and told them of my Betschman’s experience. They do not need to recommend a florist who would do something so deceiving to an out of state customer.
Be sure you check on any arrangement Betschman’s completes for...
Read moreMistakenly ordered a corsage and boutonniere. I only needed the corsage. I ask if I could only pay for the corsage and a lady from the back roomed yelled and said 'no way, I already made it". I ask if I could pay for it and donate it to someone who might need one for last minute and was told "we don't do that here." It was very rude. Even though the lady told me the color was a very popular one. I also didn't like the green on the ribbon as I ask for it to be black but was to embarrassed to complain after the lady was yelling from the back. Not happy with the product but less happy with the service. I understand prom and mothers day is very busy weekend but a simple no would have...
Read moreI Special Ordered a corsage and boutonniere. At the time of ordering in shop. I had sent a picture to the florist on her cell phone a picture of what I wanted. When picking up the order on (9-23-23) The store was busy and I didn't look at them. When I opened the box of the corsage at the time of the event. The wrist band had no stretch and would not fit the petite persons wrist. flowers were loose and flopped. The boutineere was missing the orchid that was supposed to match the corsage. Due to the shop closing at noon and the homecoming being later that evening it was impossible to have any corrections done. Paid $55.00 and they were a Substandard...
